Yep, that dot has always been there since day 1, if you dont get that dot your tv isnt gonna work is my experience.

Yeah, I like the dot, my phone gets slow enough when I get enough pics on it, I don't care for much else to start tying up resources.

*shrug*
I don't use the tv much now that they took all my channels away anyway.
