I've been using my Instinct just fine for about a year now, and I've recalibrated many times. But now all of a sudden I can't get the stupid thing to work. It's misaligned, and I can't get the calibration to even read. I always use a stylus to calibrate, but it won't read anything at this point. Anyone have any suggestions as to what I should do? Thanks in advance for any advice.

You know I was kidding right? lol Its funny how he claimed how stupid the Iraq war was and it was bankrupting this country...then he goes and spends more money in less time....in the words of a local comedian when asked "Whats the difference between Bush and Obama?" and he replies "It took 8 years for Bush to get us into the toilet, it took Obama 100 days to flush it" Sorry...Off topic!

Thanks for all the brilliant responses.

I can see how helpful this forum will be.

Do people really have nothing better to do than b**ch about politics? ALL politicians are idiots. Period. The end. Get a life. Or better yet, do something about it.

Rip,

Welcome.  My experience here at this forum has taught me that when someone asks a REALLY GOOD question, such as yours (and I'm being serious here), that no one typically replies because no one has an answer and they don't want everyone to know that they don't know everything.

So, I'll be the first to say that I'm an idiot who plays with his phone a lot and I don't have a clue which direction to send you in!  LOL

It leads me to believe that you're starting to experience a mechanical problem with the touch screen itself.  That is really the only mechanical problem that I've ever heard of or seen this phone have is touch screen failure.  It happened to me and I more careful with this phone than I am with my family jewels!

Are you having any other problems anywhere else in the OS with touch sensitivity?

Sorry to be so blunt about it, but I'm a bit tired of every topic on every forum I see turning to politics etc... Rant over.

Murley, I don't have problems with the touch screen (other than alignment) in any other application or any other part of the OS. That's why it's so peculiar to me. I was trying to be a bit more self sufficient by checking in here, but as it seems I'm the first with the issue (at least to post) I'll give Sprint a call.

Thanks.

I have a very similar issue, I can't get the screen to recognize the taps on the top left corner of the phone. The phone thinks I'm clicking closer to the center than I am. I tried recalibrating but I can't get past the first cross; the phone doesn't recognize the tap no matter where I do it. I took the phone to the store but since the phone is more than a year old it would cost $100 to fix. I've tried soft and hard reset with no luck. I've seen threads in other forums with people with similar problems but no solution, if somebody comes up with a solution please post. Thanks.

Was that WITH insurance? 100 bucks to replace? If u have no insurance the only tip i could give you would be start paying 7 dollars for insurance...for like 2 weeks THEN walk into the store to complain. Im sure they have a record of you coming in now!

That's without insurance, and yes, I thought about your suggestion right after I left the store!!! But I'll probably just get the Pre and give this phone to my mom, she loves my dad's S30 and can probably live with the problem, I almost can.

Is your touch senitivity turned all the way up?
Murley...Ripley...I suggested calling Sprint because I haven't seen a solid answer to this question on any forum...some say it's dust on the corners of the phone causing the problem, some say it's a defective touchscreen...
Call Sprint...they'll probably give you a new one if you have insurance and they can't fix it. They're going to tell you to take it to a Sprint repair center/store first before they can help...
