say what you like, its still a damn good browser with many more features than opera. Oh and by the way, Opera is Swedish, so the tech and culture comment is kinda moot.     lol

not to put a damper in your comment BUT Opera was birthed in Telenor, Norway. Other things worth mentioning is the Black Metal genre of music to spring forth from Norway's illustrious fjords. All hail Eric the Red, the world's most reknowned Viking! So maybe the tech and culture is not too far removed... Smiley)

@balian67: it's styli   LOL!

Norwegians or Swedes... you're right... so easy to get them confused... If I had to describe their difference... I couldn't. LOL

So I was following Balian67's advice on using UCWEB to download files, and I thought that his 5.9-7.2 was pretty good until I tried it out and found my phone was downloading files at like anywhere from 15-30 kb/s. I am not kidding about this, but the fastest I saw it going was 61.3 kb/s. If it helps, I have the following settings for UCWEB. My settings are as follows. Font is medium, page subsection 50k, image qual normal, rotate setting is left, scroll width is 8 pixels, check content folding box, user agent is close, preload type is Opera, backlight setting is close, and check both smooth scrolling and twi request. Good luck to you all. Smiley

Go to google on your stock browser. Then type in (all caps) UCWEB. Then it should be the first three link choices. Pick your poison. Just be sure it's the English version. Tada.

Those settings make my phone Soft reset......

(I fixed it by Checking the box "Page Optimize") Im going to play with settings here then ill keep editing this post so i dont Post Pad!

Changing Sub Section does not make my downloads faster. So im done messin with that...Ill post my settings that work best for me in the Indiana, Ohio, KY, and PA Area!

So far: Font Size= Small  (Changes the size of your fonts on a page)
Page Subsection= 200K (Dunno Exactly what this is)
Image Quality=    Low (this SHOULD make loading pages with images faster)
          Rotate Screen=   Left
Scroll Width=      8 Pixels (When i set it to 15 my phone soft resets)
Full Screen=       CHECKED (I think it takes away the top bar when your browsing)
Content Folding= CHECKED (I think this folds parts of the page over)
User-Agent=      OPERA for now still testing these!!
Shadow Connection= UNCHECKED for NOW still testing
Pre-load Type=  Open (Still gunna test this between Open/Close)
Backlight Setting= Close (I think it had more to do with other phones)
          Smooth Scrolling= CHECKED
WAP access via server= UNCHECKED (Havent tested WAP Sites)
Twi-Request=    CHECKED (Have no idea what this does)
Page Optimize=  CHECKED (Phone resets without this checked)

These are my settings as of NOW and im only gettin up to 6.46 kb/sec but im still playing with the settings! When i Find the best settings Ill edit this post!

IF I change the User Agent to PHONE UA or Empty doesn't matter if i have shadow connection on or off i still get 2-3 kbs/second So im trying Open Wave with Shadow Connection off. Im going back to the original settings for now since that was the fastest i was getting for now!

Wow, I wish I lived in four places at once. Haha, anyways, I don't know if living in California would drastically change my download speeds, but if so, then I guess I'm lucky.

Another bit of info is my version is 6.3.3 if that helps. I got it by going to Google in the stock browser (make sure it's standard and not mobile mode) and typed in all caps UCWEB. Then it should

be the 4th link down. it says something like UCWEB 6.3.3(Java). It takes you to softpedia. Then download, and I downloaded the jad file. This version does not soft reset my phone like the last one.
