Yet again, already modded _policy.txt.

SMART SHOPPER
Open wap.GetJar.com with your mobile -> Quick Download -> enter Quick Download Code 58
 This app works 100%

Nothing special but lets you check off a list if youre shopping for groceries (example)

Has anyone else been able to get this app to work?  I installed it, but every time I ry to run it I mostly get a black screen.

Sorry if it's been posted before, but it's very easy to get your device activated for developer root from the Sprint ADP website.

http://developer.sprint.com/site/global/develop/activation_device/p_device_activation.jsp

Go to Device/ESN Activation and follow the instructions after registering.  Took about 15 minutes for everything to get setup on my phone.

You would then be able to download the music app.  I was also able to get Mobile GMaps (http://wap.mgmaps.com/) installed with this setup as well.

please explain i signed up but how do i get mobile mgmaps on the phone. i know im missing a step. please help

oh, and with the MGMaps... I downloaded the one for Sprint... It loads fine, GPS works, too, but when I try to zoom in it locks up... any fix for this or do I need to install a different version?

Yea, had the same issue, but you can zoom from the menu->Go To screen, so there is a workaround.  Also, if the phone goes to screen save mode (screen off), the app dies and trying to get back in actually turns off the phone.

Right now, I'm trying to get stored offline maps to work, but having some issues there.  With the signed app, it can't browse the file system at all, with the unsigned it can find the files but I get an InputStream error on access (weird).  I think it could be useful for when on the trail and out of service area, that is, if it can be made to work.

With the developer root mod what version of Gmaps are you running? Is the version you are using capable of accessing GPS AND Street View?

Well...might as well share what I found today.

MobiMoon

MobiMoon is a JavaME mobile application that displays Moon phase and Hijri date.

Runs using the new keyboard and arrows.

Rumkin as of Dec 5, 2008: 3281944

Odysseus

Odysseus is a J2ME application for mobile devices that manages checklists, like shopping lists or 'todo' lists. The lists are organized in folders. For each list item the user can store a name, notes, and a 'done' flag. Export as text is supported, e.g. to send a list as an SMS. It should run on most Java-enabled phones since it does not use device-specific features.

Runs using the new keyboard and arrows.

Rumkin as of Dec 5, 2008: 3282008

MLedger

MLedger (Mobile Ledger) is a simple Java midlet that is designed to keep track of your bank accounts.

Runs, uses new keyboard...but when you try to add a debit or credit the number dialer only comes up, so no decimal point -_-

To install: http://m.bucket440.com/

I found all of these on this page: http://tuxmobil.org/pda_linux_apps_java.html . That is also where the descriptions are mainly quoted from. Or from the downloads page for them.

All worked with my Instinct. I have edited my _policy.txt and enabled the developer thingy from Sprint. So if they don't work on your phone, one of those are the reason.

That's it for now...Still looking and testing. Sorry for possible reposts.

*snip*

For the Apps below go to wap.getjar.com on your Instinct Browser:

Gizmo 5 - Messenger App - 25409

Additionally, the latest version of Gizmo5 can be pulled from their website directly (gizmo5.com).  [Tested succesfully with AIM / Yahoo! / GTalk (via jabber)] The catch is that the Instinct default web browser has issues with the site - it will show the non-mobile version of the site.  Point OperaMini at it, and you can download and install.

Glassplayer demo works great. You'll need to do the policy.txt mod.

http://www.instinct-samsung.com/samsung-instinct-reviews-and-videos/really-confused-after-doing-research/

Uninstall Glassplayer, then reinstall it. Voila!

Did you uninstall, the reinstall glassplayer? You must do this anytime you do a mod/large update, or the changes won't take effect. Don't use overwrite either. Full uninstall.

I did not see this posted anywhere, so if it has been I'm sorry.

I found this app which is kinda like Mesa Info Booth, you can set up widgets, RSS feeds, have emails fowarded to the app, weather of your city. I'm at work right now and I can't fool around with the app to much so there might be more to discover.

From your mobile browser goto www.webwag.com and click the "Download Webwag Mobile" link.

The program take a little while to load all the icons and features but give it time.

APPS LIST UPDATED!

Wasney, I have added the apps you listed to my post on the first page.

jtsage, I have updated the Gizmo5 info on the first page witht the new info.

Siz, Thanks but that app was already on the FIRST page with the rest of the apps.

If I'm missing any apps please let me know.  I will be checking links and other posts in the forums to try and get a more complete list. I really don't see a need as of yet to add Apps that were working prior to the MR4 update.

Thanks everyone! Lets keep the apps rolling in!
