FWIW, those who have used the Tequila Cat ebook reader should now discover that they can navigate the menu interface, do searches, etc. Granted, it may not mean much when the PDF update hits, but for now, more functionality on a cool app is a good thing.

how did you guys get facebook and youtube icon on the fun menu. i tried to click add but its not in there. kept on tryin and still doesnt show up. mayb its my phone. any help

I had the same problem and not one person could give me a real answer other then try again clicking the button.  I then decided to update the data services which is right next to the software update button.  After I did that, both facebook and youtube apps are now listed.

Hope this helps!!

Did that this earlier this morning and once again right now.  Nope.  Nada.

Hey guys, update on Gmaps:

sweet greggo (baw )wrote:

Google Maps for the Instinct ver 2.2.0:

Go to getjar.com on your phone

Enter quickcode: 36398

Happy fun!

btw, when that code goes bad, search getjar for file gmaps-220-m2_ts_L1.jad (and jar). It's 464.18 kilobytes. This is the ONLY file known to work at this time.

Those of you with ABSOLUT DRINKS

1. Does it freeze when hitting 'random drinks'?
2. Is Martini on your list under gin? I looked for it first and its not on mine, seems rediculous if its not since its a classic.

how are you guys able to download google maps? i go to www.google.com/gmm, and it still says Sorry, Google Maps does not work on your Samsung SPH-M800. This is after the latest update, and i tried to go to the link with the new opera mini beta 4.2 (which oddly does work)

If you would do a search on the site and also in this thread the link to the thread and to the Getjar.com site are posted.

http://www.instinct-samsung.com/third-party-instinct-software/google-maps-t6841/msg56466/#msg56466

The reason this one works and not the others, is because this one is specifically designed for Touch Screen phones. There is no support for the GPS function in this version.

On Google Maps 2.2.0 both satellite and street views work.

Don't know what version you're using, but here...

Open wap.getjar.com with your phone -> Quick Download -> enter Quick Download Code 36398

Here's the link for the Google Maps thread: http://www.instinct-samsung.com/third-party-instinct-software/google-maps-t6841/15/

Edit:

Also, Mesa is a neat app, but most of the features are already available on other apps...ie: RSS reader in Opera Mini (MUCH better than the Mesa one, too)

wap.getjar.com quick code: 33049  i think this might be handy and works very well

Google Maps version 2.2.0 will install and work flawlessly.

Palringo, Nimbuzz and Gizmo5 will work. However, Gizmo5 is by far the nicest of the 3 and works better with no glitches. The touch screen interface is nicer and won't freeze if the phone goes in lock mode.

Your best bet is to install the desktop client first from www.gizmo5.com and then go through the setup process there. You can always uninstall the IM client from your PC.

Gizmo5 will install the .jad file from their website using the Instinct's built-in browser. Once you've done the registration process on the desktop PC client, all you'll have to do is sign in on the Instinct Gizmo5 app.

VIOLA! You'll be rocking in no time flat.

Awesomeness, thanks! I'm trying it out right now. I'll edit this post and let you know if it works. I pretty much only use Yahoo, so this would be major win for me.

EDIT: just had a quick chat w/one of my buddies. This app is the truth!

I downloaded gizmo from getjar and didn't need the desktop client.  But it DOES work great.
