Did other people lose their Pandora One accounts recently?  Some time around the turn of the year, I went to the site and got a message saying:
Quote
Our records indicate that you've been a subscriber to Pandora on your mobile phone.  As a phone subscriber you also receive an advertising-free experience at Pandora.com.  To maintain this ad-free experience, please launch the Pandora application on your phonem which will verify your subscription.
However, even after I opened the Pandora phone app, the message persisted.  When I opted to just listen on the web, it started giving me ads with my music.  Have other folks been experiencing this?  I must say, being used to listening with no ads, their presence is rather jarring.

My Pandora continues to work as it did prior to the start of the New Year. Check to make sure you have the latest version of Pandora as I do recall upgrading sometime in 2009. I currently run Version 2.0 (on an Original Instinct).

The same thing happened to me.  Suddenly my PandoraONE account was gone and now I have to deal with ads on Pandora as well.  Does anyone know what happened?

I emailed Pandora customer service and this was the response that I got:

Thanks for writing. Sorry for the confusion. There was a bug previously which had allowed listeners who had Pandora on earlier Sprint phones to get Pandora One for free. Because Pandora is free on all supported Sprint phones, this shouldn't have been the case.

We've now fixed this bug and unfortunately you won't have access to Pandora One at this point (without upgrading for $36/yr). Please indicate that you want to use Pandora on the web, if you plan to continue listening for free.

Note that you can also listen (using the same account) for free on any supported mobile device - listed here: www.pandora.com/on-the-go

Hope this helps. Thanks so much for listening!

So basically our access before was due to a bug and eventually all PandoraONE access will be revoked.  Hopefully we should still be allowed to listen ad-free but I don't know about that yet.
