Mobile AIM

Alright everyone, I have been lurking the forum for quite some time, it has been an amazing source of information, I am very glad to have this as a resource.  I have had my instinct since august and it has really been a love hate relationship.  I've never had an issue other than the lack of applications compared to the iPhone.  The phone does everything else i need it to do perfectly.

I was poking around sprint's online download section and at the bottom of the page there is a small search box, i typed in AIM and AOL Instant Messenger came up in the sprint web exclusive section.  I touched the link and a login screen came up.  I was able to log in and have a successful conversation with one of my buddies on mobile aim.  It even runs in the background and an alert come in the form of a text message with a link that takes you back to the online conversation. It is sort of a pain in the ass, because if you dont close the talk session you will keep on getting a text until you do so.  Make sure you save it as a bookmark so you can get to it easy next time around.

i hope this was not a re-post, i tried to search around and see if this was posted before and it didnt seem to be.  I hope this helps, i know it made me a bit happy to know that i can actually use AIM correctly and it runs in the background.  Is it perfect?   No, but it works.
