I saw a news story about internet radio services that work on mobile phones, so thought I'd ask:

Is there any free internet radio service that will work with this phone?

Other than using Orb, there is no way I'm aware of.

And there probably wont be an Pandora at all thanks to this new Internet Radio royalty scheme. Pandora was struggling financially to begin with, soon no one will have pandora.

Best bet, setup Orb to stream your favorite local stations... not hard to do if the station can be played through Winamp (like most CBS radio affiliates, and all of AOL Radio).

I'm sure it will be added since they just released an app for the Apple touch phones. I paid 2$ a month to run the app on my old phone and it was well worth it for those bus rides into work. But its a wait and see at this point but I'm pretty hopeful.

Probably not. Here's an article from the Washington Post reporting on Pandora's troubles...

Thanks for the link. Hopefully Pandora can continue by playing only independent artist and record labels who see the radio station as free promotion. I listen to Pandora because I don't have to hear the crap thats played on most radio stations.

A lot of the new artist that I've gotten into recently have been from listening to Pandora.com such as Eric Metronome, Metronomy, and a list of others.

But of course if Pandora dies some other entity will take its place.

another entity would need a good venture capital and on top of that charge it's customers to cover licensing expenses.

Yes, i have used Orb before. Kinda difficult to get working. But it works. Not sure on the Instinct yet though. As mine is in the mail as we speak.  Along with Orb, i used Shoutcast.com . I usually always have one of my computers playing something from them.
