You know what would be cool? In a perfect world, Google and Sprint would work to put satellite view in the built in navigation. That would be so cool.

I can dream can't I?
Isn't that what Android is going to do...? From what I've seen, it has a special version of google maps that works specifically for Android phones. Wether or not Android phones appear under Sprint is anyone's guess, but I can't see why not.

As for Egidio, satellite views and street views are very helpful. I was actually surprised not to find it in the built-in Instinct map, being awesome as it is already.

I got it to download, but I can't find it on my phone.Let us know what you think.

I'm in the same boat as you, I got it to download but the only way I could use it is if I use immediately after I download it and dont exit the screen.

Sprint is in the OHA with Android. The rumor is that they will come next year.

I would take Windows Live Search over GMM app tbh.  It has so many more features.

Pretty much the majority of people on everythingq preferr it over GMM.

I'm just wondering (based on many people not seeing the advantage to google maps on the instinct), is the gps app free to use on sprint?  Bell charges 3.50 each day you use it or 8.00 per month for unlimited.  Wouldn't google maps be free?

For the USA  Nav is included in our Plan . I do like Google for it's Sat view but I use Sprint Nav for anything else. it just works very well.

hey there, i'm a fellow canadian Instinct user and am really frustrated that google maps isn't working on my phone. it locks up at the Terms & Conditions page. has anyone else had this issue lately?

my friends' motorolla Q's or any older phones seem to run GM no problem at all. yet another negative aspect of this phone discovered.

I gave that a try, I thought that maybe trying an older version of GM might do the trick, but i ran into the same problem.

Can't get passed the Terms & Conditions page, it's like the phone doesn't recognize that there are buttons or a scroll bar on the page. Very frustrating, not sure why I paid good money for a phone that has very limited functionality.

I looked at the jad file for this app and it isn't signed, nor does it list any of the GPS functions as being required.  Thus, I'm not convinced that you can actually use this for GPS-enabled maps.  Maybe people already realize this (I did notice earlier in the thread a request to Google to enable GPS) but I didn't want you to spend too much time getting this to work, only to find out it can only show maps based on locations you enter manually.

Don't forget, Google just released Street View for iPhone and promises to roll it out to other phones soon.  That kicks TeleNav square in the JUNK. Wink

Especially for Real Estate agents, and I guess UPS and FedEx drivers would like it too.

When the Instinct first came out the version of Google Maps worked as long as you did nothing that needed the keypad, the current version doesn't even let you scroll to accept the EULA.  The navigation software that comes pre-install is fine.

Here's the version I have. Just like the original version where you can't enter text but you can scroll around. It also let me past the terms and conditions page.
