Hello,

I am a Linux System Admin who just bought an Instinct.  I tend to manage servers on the road all the time via SSH.  I just want to spread the word that there is a solid demand and I hope someone is inspired to port an existing SSH client to the Instinct.  Smiley

Also, a bash port would be fancy too...  I could automate to many things if I could use bash Tongue

I was able to download and install this (as I also was really hoping for a working SSH app), and while it seems to run properly, it doesn't actually do anything.  I am able to create new sessions, but that's about it.  From the Sessions menu, New Session is the only option that actually works.  Selecting a created session does nothing, nor does Edit, Delete, or Import.

This was my findings as well.

I tried it out anyway, my guess is that it's just not finished yet and this is maybe some pre-release of the software. On the bright side, there are *some* menu options that work and there is a website available for it. The official website is http://xk72.com/midpssh/index.php, which appears to be a Midp SSH client that InstinctSSH is based on. I can't seem to find any information about the InsinctSSH fork though—can anyone find the source code for this? We may be able to finish the project if it's not currently being developed anymore Smiley

Edit: I failed to mention that none of the IMPORTANT menu options work, just the help/about and a very limited selection of the "Options" menu items are working (which does absolutely nothing for you if you are trying to SSH)

I downloaded the MidpSSH 1.7.3 Full Build (http://xk72.com/wap) after upgrading the phone to the MR4 software and was able to create/edit/delete a session (the keyboard pops up when you first start the app).   I tried SSH1 and SSH2 and neither connected to the router I was trying to login to (I was doing debugs on the router and watched it fail the connection).  I was however able to Telnet into the router successfully and was given the user/password prompt... however, once connected, the keyboard disappears and I can't type anything.  The only option at that point was to exit the app.

Has anyone had better luck with this?

I don't have anything to ssh to, so even if I could get the source and fix it, I have no way to test it.

Is there a generous chap (or lass) among us who would kindly donate an SSH-capable interface to KB?? Unfortunately, all the ones I know of are work-related, and I'm sure my boss wouldn't quite appreciate me granting access to company systems. Smiley
