Has anyone attempted to boot the instinct from the Micro SD card? I'm not having too much luck but wanted to hear if anyone else has succeeded.

Yeah. Initially I thought you meant a third party app to boot the micro SD card contents or something along those lines.
Nothing you're explaining really is clicking to me.

I think he's wanting to boot a different OS or such from his SD.  I'd like it if that were possible, maybe I'd try to sneak some android on there.

I think what the person means is is there a way to make the phone boot from the SD card, just like some personal computers can now boot from a USB Flash drive, so he can probably install linux or something similar to his phone...

As far as I know, the answer is no. But there is an "emergency boot" mode that you may be able to use to your advantage, perhaps it would do it....

To do this: Power the phone off, Push the power button and Volume Up button at the same time until a white screen with a blue header comes up, it claims that it uses the USB port to load programs though....

I CAN NOT BE HELD LIABLE FOR ANY THING THAT HAPPENS!

Enjoy, Chris

Thanks for the support, I'm actually considering the option of booting Moblin onto it. Seems like the boot from Micro SD slot idea didn't actually work (power + vol down), so I'm going to try to make a bootable virtual drive and see if I can get the 'emergency download' to pickup and install what I make available.

I wonder if this is covered on the warranty?

I truly believe Moblin is the future of mobile devices.. this is if the corporate world (mostly corporate America) would get their head outta their @**es.. I love the ideas that I've read about Moblin. Too bad that it prob wont hit America for a long time!

Open Sourced linux software thats TRUE open source.. Its adaptive and will (hopefully) allow it to be on any device (as long as it meets spec requirements).. Kinda like Android, but I believe its better.

Looks amazing at glance.
Obviously something I'll need to dive into deeper to truly understand.

Nothing can be booted from the instinct micro sd card since all software must be on the instinct while all multimedia is on the SD. Hopefully this can change to also allow sideloading.
