I LOVE bolt browser.  The upgrade is great.  You no longer have to hit "menu, OK" everytime you type something.  And when you hit back, it instantly goes back without having to reload the page.  And the google search bar is nice.  Downloading files is easy.  Still a few quirks, but overall I LOVE the look of the browser, it renders pages much more like a desktop than OM or the stock browser.

If the speed were up to par with Bolt or OM, I woauld prefer the built in browser by far so I'll take Bolt and be happy.

I don't get it with the Bolt browser lovers.  I have tried to use that thing and it is just the pits as compared to Opera or even the default browser that came with the device.

It always installs nicely, but when I go to a web page there is no way to navigate anywhere, no menu no nothing, just the page and my finger to scroll the page.

I went to Bolt website and no help.

I tried reinstalling, etc.  No change.  The newest version is the same, just tried it yesterday.  No way to navigate.

As soon as I put Opera back in use, things are back to normal.  It is the very best, on my M800 Instinct.

frisco, The menu buttons hide and un hide. They r at the bottom of the screen. What I actually like is that I can download files str8 to the SD card. I can not do that with OM.

I dont have problems downloading files...When you choose save as your choosing WHERE to download it...when it takes you BACK to the save/save as screen you have to hit save then it SHOULD download it...thats how i got mine to download.

lol

Yea, the menu buttons are set to auto-hide themselves.  Just tap anywhere on the bottom of the screen and they re-appear.

Yeah, I was laughing out loud too when I found that out.

Maybe I can add something to my post up there to make it look like I was just joking.

When you click "save as"
you should see this " ... " (3dots)
this backs u up 1 spot.
save pics in dcim, then camera or saved and you should see your pic in one of them

so can bolt save pics ONLY? or can it save mp3s and movies? if so explain to me how to get them to start downloading... also is it just my eyes playing tricks on me or is the bolt browser alot more clear in details of images? like the colors are more vibrant detailed compared to opera's, which after viewing many images in bolt now i feel like opera's images are muted more in tone.... HAVE YOU SEEN IT? btw its even more clearly shown in high resolution and size images, when you click on smaller one and it opens to full screen where you can move around on image, very much different..

Well that could be explained by the compression ratio's Opera compresses the websites more...which would take more overall quality away from the font, pictures, videos, and what not. Id prefer speed over quality of images ANY day.

psycho0272: even though your right about where to put pictures...it may also be that the website he is trying to save the pictures from may have "saving/copying" blocked. Go to google.com and click images then type in a search for an image. Like "hubble space pics" then click the link then click view full sized image or whatever it says...Put your mouse over the image then to the save process...IF you want to SEE them make sure you save them in /memory card/DCIM/(ANY folder in this folder) IF you still have problems come back here Smiley

I want to try this browser.

I am not sure what version works for instinct.
I got these four links in my e-mail.

* For regular devices we recommend you install the dual signed version first, followed by VeriSign then Thawte signed. If you have any trouble installing any of these three versions, install the unsigned version:
Dual Signed Build: http://boltbrowser.com/bolts2.jad
Verisign Signed Build: http://boltbrowser.com/boltvs.jad
Thawte Signed Build: http://boltbrowser.com/boltts.jad
Unsigned Build: http://boltbrowser.com/bolt.jad

Can anyone tell me what version is working best with the instinct.
I have a flashed phone and I can not access new apps directly, so I don't think I can delete ones I do not want.
