After several days of trying to get Orb to work. I've only managed to get Orb to see my directories and view images.  Whenever I attempt to play an mp3 or video, I get a black screen with the message "playing external RTSP URL" although there's no sound or video.

I've double and triple checked settings.  I only get the black screen when 3GP-ACC/RTSP format is selected, otherwise it doesn't work at all.

I have 2Mbps upstream from my PC so bandwidth shouldn't be an issue and I have a powerful CPU, etc.  I have the Instinct set for 320kbps.

I can only conclude that Sprint may block something in specific areas.  For reference:

Location:  Chandler, AZ
ISP:  Cox Cable
OS: Vista Ultimate

I'm curious if anyone in my area has gotten Orb to work. Also curious about it working with Vista and Cox Cable.

I have used my router with all ports open and also with no router at all with no luck.  Firewall on/off, doesn't matter.

Would a TV Tuner Card work with basic aka free TV?

No bluetooth support and I am sure an enormous amount of battery power is being wasted by the dark, yet still emitting light, screen. Also, the navigation buttons are full on.

I would downgrade great to good

RinTin -

I was having the same problem....black screen. I reconfigured the TV signal settings and now I'm up and running.

Go to Configuration, TV tab, and Setup TV signal & provider.

Hope this helps you.

Thanks for the reply. My problem is with playing MP3's . Do the TV settings somehow affect their playback characteristics on the Instinct ? I cant seem to make the screen go completely off when playing mp3's

Wow, the XM Radio online stream through ORB is fantastic. I'm really glad I bought this phone now.

Even though it's a walk through for the iPhone, it will work for the Instinct. Just make sure you have all the settings right through ORB as stated earlier in this thread ( .3gp ; 320kbps ). I got hung up on that when I was first messing around with this last night.

Just remember people that when streaming orb your not gonna get any calls. As its constantly using data just like sprint tv/radio.

Most should already know this but i figured i would just remind people.
