This past weekend Woot.com had a deal posted for $.25 or $.50 for a usb dongle, so I went ahead and got it ($1 shipping
) so now I can finally transfer files from my instinct to ubuntu, though I get a parsing error with my music files since there are so many...don't understand it but thats not what this post is about...
I was perusing the ubuntu forum looking for a fix on the music folder and came across "anyRemote" control videos and music via bluetooth. I uploaded the 64x64 icon folder to rumkin if anyone wants it jumpcode - 4474188. since I know there are ubuntu users who use the instinct and this website, I was hoping someone could advice me on fixing this. other icon sizes, as well as the .deb packages, can be downloaded from "
http://anyremote.sourceforge.net/dload.html". I got it set up on my computer, finally...its apparently also in the synaptic package system for easier install....
I have my computer recognizing my phone, I have the apps running on both the phone and computer, but I can't do anything, please any advice.
EDIT: want to add that when I open the app on the phone, the 12 buttons are all "lock" symbols
