An LED flash would have been nice, though I wonder what kind of effect that would have on battery life...

I suppose you're right. I noticed that with my 8MP point-n-shoot, battery life went down the crapper when the flash was used extensively. In environments where the flash was not necessary, it seemed the camera would never die. Oh well, moot point anyway...

I dont think the flash would be that harsh on the battery unless your having a photoshoot with your phone haha. but we did get an battery with our phones. and either way no firmware upgrade will fix this issue.

Is this what you are looking for???

maybe is part of the next upgrade!!!!   laugh

It's obvious that's what you looking forward to though, to have that pic saved to your computer..
Pahahahaha Nice try, but yet YOU FAILED.

I really care less about the camera on this or any phone... is it a nice feature/option to have? definitely!
but I still believe that this device is primarily a phone, hopefully one day there will be digital cameras with integrated phones (I would most likely get my hands on one if i could)
And I actually deleted the picture I posted earlier... It is still in my trash can... but I don't think I need to save it... it is now in this thread as long as it exists...

One more thing, what exactily did we FAILED at? our opinion? Huh? or to answer your question about contrast, saturation, sepia or b/w effects?  which is a simple "no, this options are not available"

To be more precise:

They are supported in the firmware/hardware but are not available for (practical) use....  I have no reason why they did it, but my first guess would be rushing the phone, they didn't have time to design the UI for, implement and test those features, so they left it for (hopefully) later.

They can be accesed by using the RF Config tool of QPST while the phone is teathered to the PC, but it has a VERY HIGH chance of messing up your phone, if not actually killing the camera and/or the phone (It's possible to overload the sensor and fry the camera, as well as fry the phone) my post was simply to say that to the best of my knowledge and experimentation the phone does support those things in hardware/firmware (And heed my warning, I ended up disabling my phone while performing those tests, taking a very long and paniced hour before I was able to restore my phone to working condition (thankfully).

Once again I can not repeat this enough.... DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME, unless you absolutely do not care if you kill your phone!

Maybe we could all just carry a flashlight around and shine it in peoples faces before taking the picture... that might help.  Smiley
