This bug has been reproduced on several Instinct m800 phones:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4yP2-EWtWPc

This bug interests me because:

1) I notified Samsung about this bug at during the summer of '09.  Therefore they've had plenty of time to fix it.

2) It's incredibly easy to see and reproduces at a rate of 100% (at least on the phones I tried and I have no reason to believe it wouldn't affect all the phones)

3) It looks like it should be easy to fix.

So when you sum it up, this bug illustrates that Samsung isn't even slightly interested in our feedback or the quality of this phone.  If they won't fix something this simple do you seriously think they'll fix any of the major bugs or even touch any of the various design flaws?

BTW: It's nice to see web forums becoming so YouTube friendly.  All I had to do to embed this video was post the URL.  I didn't even have to set it as a link!

Notifying Samsung won't do you any good.  The Instinct has custom firmware created by Samsung for Sprint.  Sprint has to ask Samsung in order for there to be any chance of a fix.  The only place that this type of complaint has a chance of doing any good is on Sprint's buzzaboutwireless forum.

I posted this on the Sprint site, along with links to this thread and your youtube video....
Does it correct itself when you exit the calendar and go back into the calendar...
If it does, then I can also reproduce this on my New Samsung Instinct HD as well.....
And if it does correct itself, then it shows they chose to overlook this issue....
Thanks for the info....I never knew ( probably because I don't use the calendar ) but it doesn't mean it's any less important.

Yes, it corrects itself when you back out of it to the full calendar view or out of the application all together.  I never noticed it either as I just sync with my outlook but interesting nonetheless.

Thanks for posting this thread around!  And it shows up in the HD as well?  Unreal.  But then again, when I was in a Sprint store I tested some other minor nuisance issues on the "super advanced" HD and they remained.  How pathetic.

Yes, the calendar returns to normal once you back out to a month view or close and re-enter the calendar.

What a bunch of lazy and incompetent developers.  If Samsung can't even get this right or even make good on it once it's been reported to them then why should I ever feel confident that any of their other products will be built with quality?  I will not buy Samsung again, and it has more to do with having solid proof of their poor craftsmanship and indifference to the customers than it has to do with my anger at being sold a POS.

And, unfortunately, Sprint is going to suffer as well because they've been looking the other way the whole time.

I didn't post it to buzzaboutwireless, but I did send the link to dan@sprint.com
I received a call about it today and the lady said she'll take a look.  I believe her, but I have no faith whatsoever that Sprint will do anything unless it looks like they are going to be publicly embarrassed by this.  I doubt my video has the potential to embarrass anyone... other than myself...  geeze, my narration is terrible!

Yeah, I've had this issue to, seems it should be an easy fix after all this time.
