I'm going to vent about the phone and forum.
First the phone,
I bought mine second hand from a very dissatisfied customer at the time and I'll agree with him, before the MR4 update, it sucked. However it was still better than my old phone, so why complain? Luckily I got the Instinct 2 months before MR4 and to my surprise, the instinct is a very solid phone. It does exactly what the box says, and that's fine by me. I don't expect this phone to be an, 'iphone' killer and honestly compared to the iphone, it can be better. Even the G1's mobile speeds are no match for Opera Mini on Sprint's blazing fast mobile connection. Bottom-line is that in actuality, no phone out right now is perfect. Every single phone on the global market has a few drawbacks from being, 'the one.'
That said, onto this forum...
Now before I rant, I would like to say that this forum is a decent place to dig up information on the Instinct. It's far better than that other instinct forum, which is a good thing! It's good to have a place to come that is semi-sorted with information readily available and for that I give my thanks for maintaining this board.
The bad,
I've never been on a forum where there are more people crying about the 'search' button. I mean, usually forums have it in the rules and many people will advocate to use it once in awhile, but for the love of god people. You will get new members (and I mean 6/10) that simply won't read any rules and ask those 10 question over and over. This is a problem because this forum lacks a F.A.Q stickied post with detailed information.. I will make one, if you want me to, and also this forum is a bit hard to navigate because everything is in orange, bold orange, white, and gray!
but never mind the colors, back to searching...
I do use the search feature, as I am an avid forum user and believe that if I have a question, then someone else has already asked it as well. That said, often times any question you have has been answered to a certain extent in one form or another. However within this forum, there are so many people asking the same question over and over that even by searching, one would be hard pressed to find a solution to their problem because of a few simple reasons:
When said question has been asked and answered so many times, those answers become " No, use the search to find out why" and when you are searching and come across this 10 times, it becomes relatively frustrating! Continuing, the people that are answering these questions a million times become frustrated and the people that actually search become frustrated! It's almost like a lose-lose for everyone..
Other than that, you guys maintain a great community for a great phone. Thanks again for managing a place where we phone geeks can come together and rave about our techie gadgets.
