It has been a full year, a tumultuous one, yet despite the issues, gripes, and complaints many owners have had with the phone I am still quite happy with the device. Even with all these new more powerful phones coming out I still haven't felt that any one particular device is a true advancement above what Instinct has to offer. We complain about what Instinct can and can't do, but at the same time, Iphone owners are just now getting video recording, voice control, Live Search, and turn by turn directions, we've had it from day one. We complain that another phone has a better youtube app, yet I'm happy with the simple fact that youtube works on the phone pretty well. Also, after a year, I still feel that Sprint 3G is amazingly fast, the call quality and connection is great. Not once, have I ever missed not having Wi Fi.
I still love Instincts threaded texts and picture mail, I've figured out how to take good pictures with the camera, Opera on this phone imo has to be one of the best browsing experiences out there. I still consider the phone to have a flawless physical design, it slides perfectly into my pocket, and even without an app store, hey we get a few good ones every now and then like IM, loopt and pandora, it gives hope that there is more to come, and I think there will be, and soon. (Also big thanks to the developers at Instinct-Software.com) Also in terms of games, this phone has no shortage of them.
Also, we also take for granted a lot of things Instinct got right, the resistive touchscreen is top notch, the haptic feedback on this phone is not a gimmick at all, the OS is simple, not very customizable, but very easy to use (which is what many of us wanted) and the back, home and phone keys is still smart design.
As far as media is concerned, heck we dont have the best TV or radio, and losing some excellent channels hurt, but hey we at least had TV and many other phones dont, and finally a lot of people dislike the MP3 player but I dont have a real problem with it, it plays all 500 of my tunes with no problem. So basically Instinct may not be the best at any one particular thing, but at least it has that one particular thing.
....and I even forgot to mention some other things that are still great about the phone a year later, the email app and calender, what would I do without it!!!
