Didn't know if I wanted to call this a rave or vent but Opera doesn't render the new yahoo layout well, it cuts articles off at the edges, the stock browser on the other hand, renders just fine, yay!!

I know. I use the stock browser to check the radar on my local tv station's website.  It shows the animated radar, opera does not.  The only reason I don't use the stock browser more is because i'm not in a 3g area at home.  That makes the stock browser painfully slow.

Plus, i'm not real crazy about the zoom after the latest update.

You know I like flicking through Opera cause its fast and dependable, but I do like all the options included with the stock browser, results vary but hey, it has a toolbar with decent features!!

I like the new homepage a lot better than the old one.  I also like the fact that when you type an address in the stock browser, you have the .com, .net, http://, etc. right there at your fingertips.

I don't like the 200 limit on opera, but I'll take that over the stock browser anyday!

I don't have beef with the stock browser.  the zoom is nice since the re-hash, I like to be able to select my zoom not be 1/2, 1 or 2 and have to reload the whole page to apply size settings.  my only problem with it is its hard to click the links sometimes, but opera pulls the same thing so I think thats more my phone not the browser, I just zoom in click and zoom back out.

now if we could only get Fennec, then I'll have some real comparing.  I tested the computer version (opens in "phone" sized window) and I just shrick bits it was amazing.

btw, best "upgrade" to the stock browser for me was setting google as my homepage.  it loads very quickly and lets me navigate everywhere.

this is the first time I've ever even heard about the stock browser being compared as an equal to the opera mini browser lol

But the stock browser is good for SOME things, not many but its not totally useless

Much love for Opera Mini for me Smiley  I have had it on other phones and it is nice that is was already on the phone when I bought it.  The only thing I like on the stock browser is the zoom functionality.

The stock browser is easier to enter text into as well.  If you want to enter text into a text field you click on the field and if the browser doesn't do the little zoom in and out dance you're ready to enter text.  Opera sends you to a pointless screen where you have to tell it a second time that you want to enter text.  Then Opera imposes a 200 character limit.  Also, if you've entered a lot of text and then re-open a field for editing Opera will crop off your existing text to about 160 characters in length.

I complained on an Opera forum about the 200 char limit and the 160 character crop off point bug and neither one were addressed any further than the usual childish "It's not OUR fault, it's <place another party here>'s fault" excuse computer programmers are famous for.
