Yeah Navigation and Live Search get all the spotlight as Instinct's best application, but the overlooked Clock App is not too shabby. Its simple, easy to use and offers an Alarm, Timer, Stopwatch and my favorite, the World Clock. I'm sure other phones may offer this stuff as well but I don't have other phones I got this one.  I dig just looking at the times in different places in the world and I like the lil bubble interface that show's locations.   Also the Instinct's weather application is excellent as well, the quick updates, weather reports, and radar is nice. Like the world clock, I dig looking at Weather around the world. I even trip out sometimes when I check weather in Missouri and notice that its colder here than it is in Alaska, or that is currently colder in New York than it is in Moscow. That Darn Global Warming!!!

Does the alarm allow you to select music to play as your alarm?  That would be nice.

As for the weather app, I do like it.  I have both Austin and my hometown in Brazil listed.  It's neat.

Yes you can select a Ringer for the Alarm.  It also lays it when the Timer goes off. This is nice for the kids soccer games that don't have scoreboards. You can set it and do other thigns with the Phone and it goes off.

I now have no complaints about this phone what so ever. and I mean none.

Yeah, the alarm will let you choose any music you want.  As long as that music is listed as a ringer.  Smiley

Agreed...The clock/timer functionality of the Instinct is great.I use it daily.Tied in with daily reminders from the calendar, it's all good. Also,I know some people rip on the music player app,but ya' know what? It works just fine for me.I'm all too happy to not have to carry around a mp3/iPod as well as my phone. It's got a sh!t load of music on it and the sound is very acceptable. Sure maybe a few EQ presets would be nice, but other than that,I'm cool with it.

Thanks, guys.  So, it plays ringers but not really music in your music folder.  I would like the option to play music.  I mean from my music folder.  Waking up to the same music is just like a buzzer.

The Instinct is not alone on this, though.  My iPod Touch is the same way.  I cannot understand how a company such as Apple -- known for its iPod -- did not think of a way to use the stored music as an alarm choice.  So, I had to buy a Sony alarm clock to dock my iPod.  Now I wake up with different music every morning.

the music player ability to run in the background is really great.
not everyone knows it will play your music while you surf the web and such.

In addition to what's already been mentioned, (Nav, Live Search, Clock, Weather, and Music Player), I really like the Sports Scoreboard.  It's not always exactly up to the minute, but I find myself using it quite a bit! I also like the e-mail, messaging, and Movie Listing apps. And watching those Thursday Night Football games has been very enjoyable!

I love the speed at which I can recieve,  read and reply to my Hotmail and Gmail email accounts....just as quick as getting a text.

If people stopped for a second complaining about their being no IM on Instinct they could realise this format of communication with the outside world is almost as quick as Yahoo or MSN instant messengers...and you get notification of a new reply everytime that can be read by a simple slider on the screen.

I agree with the live search. I love that thing. I work in a gas station by the e-way so I get a lot of people coming in looking for something specific. If I don't know of the closest hardware store, or chinese resaurant, I use that to find them one. And that you can get a map and directions with just a click is helpful too. I like reading the strange news too.

Live search is an awesome app, but for some reason most of the numbers it retreives are incorrect.  And sometimes it retreives JUST a phone number, no address.   I can look up that same business with the nav app and the number is correct.

This has to do with the fact that the two apps are run by different companies
