After installing the included Instinct software I used it to load some movies to the phone. The program said converting after I hit the "Transfer to Phone" tab. When copleted the videos were cleared. When I try to view the videos I can't find them. There's nothing in the manual about finding them. When I check them through the computer, it shows them in the media file and they play, but can't find them in the phone. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Well after spending some 2-3hrs talking to tech support....It seems that technically you cant send videos from the Instinct to other non-Instinct phones....something about that the Instinct shoots mpg4 videos
and most other phones are mpg3 and do not support this format. Dont know if this all for certain though...But just though I would follow up on this issue.....

How big or long was the video you were trying to send.  The limit is 2 mins or less than 6mb.

I sent a video to my wife.  She has a Palm Centro.  She got a message telling her that she was sent a video.  It had a link and when she clicked on it it let her play/save it.  I have sent them to people with verizon also.

It was less then 2 mins, just a short 40 sec video to test it. Here is the story that Sprint was unable to help me with or fix. My last phone was the PPC-6700 and i had no problems with sending pictures or videos to my brother who is with Verizon. When i got the instinct i sent a couple of test videos and pictures but he never received them. When he sends me one i get it instantly. He got one picture i sent but only after many hours, 6+. I tried sending to my wife (who is with Sprint) she got it instantly. Now if i log into my sprint pictures account online it says that the files were uploaded but he never gets them. I dont see the problem being on his side because this problem never happend till i got the Instinct.

I am able to shoot videos but the camera shuts itself off in about 3 minutes.  I just sit the phone on edge and left it turned on but it times out.  Is there any way to let it run until the memory is filled?

When your in the camcorder there's a little film strip icon under the camera icon on the right of the screen. If you click it it will say your recording until memory is fully and files over 6mb can not be uploaded. And on the bottom left of the screen you will see how much time you can record until memory is full.

Ok, this is what I have regarding my own personal experience with trying to send video mail from my Instinct. I have sent video mail to the following:

Carrier                                 phone type                                    status

Verizon                                Env2                                             not received

Verizon                                Blackberry Pearl 8130                       not received

T-Mobile                              Samsung T429                                received

AT&T                                  Samsung A737                                not received

Sprint                                 Samsung Instinct                             received

Sprint                                 Palm TREO 500                                received

A sprint tech told me that the pics and vids use the same service so he asked me to send these phones a picture. The picture was received by everyone. I spoke to another tech at Sprint and she told me that its probably because the other phones dont support mp4 is why they dont receive the vid mail. Does anyone else have any input on this situation?
