When im recording something on my phone it says failed to record. I only record 30 seconds and I have that problem and yes there is lots of time remaining 2 hours. So whats wrong? This is the new instinct I have since the other one my speaker blew out so it can not be defective can it?

Mine started to do this when I put in an 8gb card...

I've found, as annoying as it may be, that a simple reformat of the card works pretty well, at least for a while. I actually defrag mine from time to time.

Make sure to backup all your files to your computer first, of course.

mbrulla I foemated my card and it did not work. I also reseted my phone and waited 5 minutes to reset but it did not woek either. I have tries other memory cards and they do not work either what else should I do?

Yes the only thing it does not let me take video. It says record failed and when I look at it in the saved folder its just black and nothing plays.  I see a restore option when I go to dialer and put ##data# should I try that? Do you know what that does?

Im so mad right now I finally got an insrinct that works with the speaker but does not work with taking video!!!! Do you think they will give me another one for this reason or they will not? Im mad!

I don't see why they wouldn't.  It's defective.  I don't know anything else to tell you, maybe somebody else knows something.
