Has anyone heard anything about geotagging support for photos / videos coming to the Instinct? I just grabbed an Instinct and am enjoying it so far. Obviously the Instinct has the hardware to support geotagging images, but it is not currently adding the location info to the EXIF data.

This is one area where the 3G iPhone has an advantage over Instinct. I'd love to see the Instinct close the gap by adding this in a software update, at least for still images. And although the Instinct doesn't support directly uploading to Flickr, sending photos to Flickr through SMS works like a charm. Of course I'd love to see full Flickr and Picasa support for the Instinct, too. Both of these sites support geotag mapping, and it would be cool to not have to edit these photos after upload to add geotag data.

Geotagging would be cool.  Should (he says) be easy for them to add a call to the API to get the Lat/Lon from the A-GPS Chip.

Yes, that would be very cool. Hope Sprint is listening. Please post your suggestion here:

Thanks for the suggestion, @jsmith. I posted a similar message on the BAW forum.

Food for thought...iPhone takes crappy 2 megapixel pictures and has no flash for night pictures who cares about geo  tagging on the iPhone? lol.

Now if it had a camera like Nokia N95 which is 5 megapixel with Carl Zeiss lens and flash then I say it would be cool.

Personally I have 7 megapixel camera to take pics so until cameras on the phones improve not much use to me to have geo tagging.

I'd love to be able to take a photo of something and have an appp that will let me plot groups of images on the nav maps...say like new restaurants in my area.  So then I can call up that map while i'm walking around and be able to see if anything i've taken a picture of as interesting is in the general vicinity
