kind of stinks, my last phone was a year old, and had all these options, including bluetooth printing.  I had considered this phone more advanced, but the more i think about it, basically the only differences are the sprint TV/Radio, and the touch screen.

It means that it can't do what most of our other phones could do, as far as the camera is concerned.

That sucks... You would think with a phone of this caliber they would do something nice with the camera.  Having no flash really bothers me, since now that limits when I can take a pictures.  Not being able to do more with photo's and the camera is kind of sad when older phone had more options out there. Sad

The phone is capable of all that except for the flash.  The phone came from samsung with 4x Digital Zoom, 12 Picture Modes, Indoor, outdoor lighting, Sephia, B/W, Negative, Fun Frames and more.  Sprint shut it all off.  Maybe they will reactivate it at some point.  That would be nice.

Wow! I didn't knok that! +1

Yeah, people give sprint all the credit for the phone. Samsung makes the phone. Sprint just bought it.

No actually sprint and Samsung desgined this phone model, sprint does the sofrware design and samsung builds the phone.

If the phone is capable of those functions and they have just been turned off, would it be possible to reactivate them ourselves?

Oh, this phone is a special case. Usually Samsung designs the phone and builds it. Like the Samsung Omnia for At and Verizon. Ok, back to topic:

I wish Sprint would turn them back on. Is there a link to where he found all that out.

I am deeply disappointed to find out there is no zoom feature on the Instinct camera.

This is important to me because I have a kid in the high school marching band and orchestra;  it looks like I am going to have to start carrying both my digital camera and Instinct (my 8330 Curve camera had zoom with the trackball).

This is an example of not spending enough time questioning the sales person in the store.  I would NOT have purchased this phone knowing the camera was so limited.

The 90 day trial will come in handy then,   take it back.

while i do agree a zoom would be nice,  im not sure what type of zoom you expected with a 2MP camera to begin, even if it did have zoom its not you would be able to sit in the stands or auditorium and take a picture from 30 yds away with any quality whatsoever.  SOunds like you need a new camera not a new phone.

My 8330 was the same camera, but it has zoom.  I thought all digital cameras, including those on cellphones, had zoom.  Unbelievable they'd bork that.

This is an example of how important it is to really get to know a device before making the purchase.
Now I have to go through the hassle of a return and picking out another device.  My mistake I guess.

That's not a bug - Its a feature request!

On a cell phone you can only get digital zoom due to space constrains and power consumption. A digital zoom is the same as taking the picture in any photo editor software and croping the picture...

All I know is I could take a wide, no zoom shot of the whole orchestra making individual faces not very discernable.  Then zoom in on my kid from exactly the same place and get shots of her clearly.
