I don't see the zoom function until you view pics taken.  Select the lower righ icon that looks like an eyeball and picture, then select the lower right icon that looks like a box with a green arrow pointing to a person.  Then select background to view the picture with the zoom function or picture ID to assign it to a contact.  You can zoom and drag the picture around with your fingertip.  I don't see a way to save the changes to the cropped or zoomed picture.  The pictures are amazingly sharp and the zoom works great other than that.

no it does not have a flash or a zoom unfortunately.  A flash we will never see in an update but I would love to see just a couple of options for the camera.  A 2x zoom and an indoor/outdoor setting would do wonders.

Thanks for your reply.  I agree I think an indoor/outdoor feature and zoom update would be a great idea! Smiley

The phone is capable of all that except for the flash.  The phone came from samsung with 4x Digital Zoom, 12 Picture Modes, Indoor, outdoor lighting, Sephia, B/W, Negative, Fun Frames and more.  Sprint shut it all off.  Maybe they will reactivate it at some point.  That would be nice.

Yeah, people give sprint all the credit for the phone. Samsung makes the phone. Sprint just bought it.

Why on earth would Sprint shut it off? To make room for other stuff?  I just find it odd that they would do this.  Hopefully they do add it in an update at some point.

How do you know it came with all that? If it's on the phone there is a way to unlock it. Now if someone just knows how...

I wonder why they would shut it off.  That's one of the things I liked about my last phone, it had great camera options.  It also had the options like 6 pics in 1 sec.  You just hit the button and click, click, click... you can see which ones come out decent.
Great if you have goofy kids.

Since someone else brought it up, what is the button with the numbers for?  The lower left, there is a button with a number on it.  If you push it the #'s go away.  I have been to lazy to break out my book yet.  Actaully that's not true, I have read plenty in the book, i just haven't looked up anything on the camera yet.

I did realize today that my phone ceases being a phone while streaming radio.  Anyone calling in gets routed straight to Vmail. That's a bummer. I haven't tested tv yet, but I'm assuming it's the same.
