That doesn't make much sense, sorry.

That makes perfect sense as its more of something to play around with. At first i will use all of its little toys and want to play with it but eventually i will want it just for a phone. Maybe you never get bored with things but i do. Thats probably just a difference in our opinions though.

Don't forget email, WiFi, 8GB built in storage (don't have to buy a bigger card) and Exchange ActiveSync.

Email once again is only non picture. Ill put more on that in the below quote, as for wifi i personally dont need it if im paying for unlimited data i do see the need for those who want to use Voip services for cheap or free calling but im not one of them as i have more then enough minutes at sprint which is why i pay for sprint, 8gb of storage could be a good thing or bad thing as we dont know how the instinct will handle a 16gb card or higher as they are released. If it handles a higher card then it could be better then iphones but personally paying a little more for storage inst a huge deal but once again it could be for you. I know most people will be fine with the 2gb, im still going to be using my video ipod for my car so it doesnt effect me. As for active sync that doesnt affect me but if it does for you then that could be the deal breaker.

You can't say this until you use both of them.  I highly doubt Apple would release a GPS navigation system that sucked.

This is true. However im not saying apples will suck. Just that the gps on the instinct has gotten great reviews and has even been said to be able to place a regular nav unit.

Actually the email accepted on the Instinct is plain/text only.  There are only 2 types of email today...HTML and plain/text.  The Instinct does not support HTML email.

I know how email works. And i was surprised to see this myself. But if you watch the instinct video review. I'm thinking that its phonedogs they show an email with a link and the ability to click it and load the page. They still say however that pictures do not work.

AT&T's data/talk plan is currently $59.  The cheapest Everything Plan from Sprint is currently $69.  When AT&T raises their price to $69 for data and phone, it will be the same as Sprint's cheapest Everything Plan.

Not really as the features are completely different. Like unlimited text messages instead of 200 along with everything else sprint offers (except modem) such as gps, sprint tv, sprint radio, data etc.

I'm by no means an advocate of Apple.  In fact, I've been a Sprint customer for almost 8 years.  I must say, however, the Instinct isn't even on the same playing field as the IPhone.  As of July 11 I will no longer be with Sprint.  I'm very happy to see someone has finally created a phone that can do everything...and well.  I'm just sad to say it's not Sprint.

I have also been a sprint customer for almost 8 years. I also love apple products im not a fan of macs but i do love my ipod. I'm also not saying that the iphone is bad in anyway its a crazy cool phone. I'm just saying that the instinct is also a great phone and its on a great network. Which means that im connected to everything no matter where i am. But yeah if your on at&t or your contracts coming up and you dont care about actual calling service then get the iphone you will enjoy it. But if your in contract with sprint or you want a great phone service then get the instinct you wont be disappointed.

I just got an M510 last year which is Okay for a phone, but doing much else kills the battery... a tradeoff of small size I guess.   But anyway, one of the first things I did was load Opera Mini on it for browsing.  If OM works on an M510, its gotta work fine on the Instinct.  Maybe they'll even make an "enhanced" version for it.  And I assume the built-in browser can always be upgraded later, so I'm planning on snagging one anyway.

I would really like being able to use an external charger...

It's posted here in several threads the problems there are with opera mini running on the Instinct.  Try using the search next time.  Also try phonedog.com as he demo's it.

I believe that the problem with the Opera is not so much as it crashes on the instinct (from more than 1 person who has tried) but without the hard phone buttons you can't do anything with it.  Opera needs to come out with a touch version.  The problem has been stated about Firefox  mobile also.  I am sure that these two common apps will be working on touch versions as touch screen phones are becoming the "HOT" item these days and more touch screen phones are on the way.

That's what I was getting at also, dayvedayve.    And yes we really do need to get reviews from more than one source Smiley after it's released.   I think there would even be a market for a paid version of Opera Mini... if they can make it touch-happy.

ATT has less service feautures and sprint gives more.

SMS works toward email.

GPS is partyin like a rockstar on the instinct and an old man lost on the iPhone 3G.
