but that obviously shows how bad the browser is on the instinct

Good find.My Macvangelist buddy and I do the DSL reports test every time we meet (about once a week, iPhone 3G vs.Instinct).Our results are virtually the same (as the video) based on the tests used.His browser renders faster(cpu+safari = better overall load time on most pages).But!...and it's a big butt!....The EVDO.Rev.A,definitely (at least in SF/Sausalito) spanked the 3G in data transfer.So there you have it.It's a browser/hardware issue.Just another un-scientific test performed in the real world with no proof at all to back it up!   

We just sit on my front porch and run the test from DSLreports....

Like I said,I only beat him on the speedtest from that link(using the 1mb file).He (mostly)bests me in actual load times of websites,but by mere fractions.So we call it a wash and I hope for a faster browser and he hopes for a faster data connection. It's all in good fun.
