can be purchased and used with the SPRINT service in the US?

You know, I've never really given it much thought. But I suppose it would be possible with a huge amount of time and effort. Each carrier has their own individual settings, authentications, etc. so I guess if you could figure all those out you MIGHT get another CDMA phone to work on Sprints service.

But being as you don't see a lot of unlocked phones floating around, I'd say it's more trouble than it's worth.
