Yes, I know. I followed the instructions to the 'T' and it still 'bricked' my phone. Anyone have any ideas on how to do it with a S30?

Just wanted to know, in terms of installing games on the instinct, is it neccesary to change the telus policy txt. i uploaded games and they worked without having to modify it. i just wanted to confirm if it mattered or not in regards to the telus policy txt file.

no it is not necessary to change the telus policy txt.
so if your fine with putting the games on your phone... then there is nothing you should worry about! Smiley

A big thanks to anthraxp09 and corellon for their hard work. I've never done anything like this before but it worked like a charm! I've managed to download and install OperaMini on my instinct and that works great! I've attempted to place about 20 apps/games on the instinct however, and even though they show up under games/apps, when they run, I can't do anything with them? Any suggestions?

Again, big thanks for everyone! Stick it to Telus!

is it possible to get the stock ringers off the phone through bitpim and use them on another phone, say a Moment?

I can find the directories where they are on my phone but I can't seem to be able to get them back to mp3. Are the stock ringers the .gc and .gcd files in the content folder?

Thx...

There is another thread on this forum about using BitPim to download backgrounds from the instinct to your PC, but there's been no reply to it.  Specifically, the "Downloads" folder of the backgrounds (Settings>Display>Background>Downloads). There are images that somehow landed in that folder that I really need and have no real way to access them because I cannot find them in the Filesystem using BitPim.

Since you seemed to be skilled with BitPim, I figured I'd ask. If you have ANY idea how to get these images to your PC, please tell me!

Thanks!

Problem: I have been adding ringtones to my M800 for a while now, but now since my phone got reset, I cannot anymore.

I add, for example, 10.txt, 10.gc, 10.dd, and when I reset my phone and unplug the USB, there is nothing. BITPIM displays no 10 anything, like I didn't write anything to my phone.

Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

Using bitpim and preptool works with sprint service phones, but be very careful to not have bitpim running when you plug in your phone and do not start bitpim until you have changed the option on your phone to not be connected to the computer. If when you look at your phone when you first plug the usb into the computer you will see that is says connected to computer, you have to slide the red bar at the bottom of your phones screen to disconnect it, then it is safe to run bitpim, and go on with what you were going to do... BTW if using Sprint, just use the Bell selection in preptool.
