If you are in the U.S. on Sprint, then you can use the media manager software that came with your Instinct, and you don't have to use the file transfer method.

Up here in Canada we didn't get any software with our Instincts, so we're feeling our way around in the dark.

The easiest way, for those of us in Canada, is if you can use a card reader with your computer. The memory card can be synched with Windows Media Player and you can transfer media that way.

Media Manager dosnt work for me. Im going to try to call Sprint tech support. Hopefuly they will have some answers. Probably not... worth a shot.

Actually I found a Much better and 10x quicker video converter! It's Great!
Freez 3GP Video Converter
http://www.smallvideosoft.com/download.php
All you need to do it add your files to the left, select File Format: 3GPP2, Video Codec: MP4, Video Quality, Up to you. Then just Convert it!
Super quick and easy!
Converted my avi file 10:1 in 2 minutes!

I used to have XP and connecting to PC was OK. Now I got Vista.
When I connect to the PC even without the Instinct PC connection not set to on position, computer will install USB and modem drivers. But when set to on position, it won't see the the phone as a separate driver. On the phone it will stay in the PC connection status for a while and revert back to main screen.  SD card is installed. Anybody knows what's wrong here?

I would remove the sd card and re-install. I had the same as you once and that did it. Never had an issue after. I wasn't on Vista though.
