I downloaded OM 3 and cant sign on onto anything...EXAMPLE..myspace login. I did bookmark the keyboard URL.

So, there is no way to sign on, into anything or any website that requires a sign on?

correct. We wont be able to use opera until there is a proper fix for the keyboard.
There are lots of threads in the non-canadian forums about this. As of now, there is no release date for the keyboard fix on behalf of samsung/qualcomm. You are welcome to harass bell about it. Perhaps they can push samsung/qualcomm to get the fix ready faster.

I already looked into this. Opera lists compatable cell phones and the instinct US or Canada is not on it.

Most cell phones have a ok button and a back and forward button on the keypad. Since the instinct only has a back button on its physical keypad it does not have the required buttons to use the software you cannot install it. Opera will have to make a custom version for the instinct. No word on whether they are actually going to do this. Its not a bell or sprint issue. Its a opera issue.

please read the rest of the thread. there is a way to install opera.

I just installed Opera Mini 4.1 on Telus Instinct without any problems.

I was o.O looking at how fast it loads webpages, but as everyone else, I was not able to get a pop-up keyboard.  But following to links work as a charm!

If it's anything like the US phone, it will install and load ok the first time, then won't load after that.

Well, it works perfectly (again, except for the keyboard part).  I'm trying to load video...but gotta find a link first.

Sorry, but I'm really new at this. Could you provide a step-by-step on how to properly install Opera Mini 4.1 on the Telus Instinct?

Thanks.

Well, I'm not really good at writing step-by-step instructions.

If you have been reading this forum, you should be able to put the puzzles together.

Here are the main pointers that I followed.

1. Editing _policy.txt

I haven't seen telus version of _policy.txt(_telus_policy.txt), so here is what I have:

2. Download Sprint Driver for Samsung Phones

3. Download QPST or Bitpim (personally, bitpim is easier to use)

4. Download .jar and .jad files and put them into /brew/shared/jas/temp/install folder
Make sure you rename the jar and jad files into the number that follows the sequence of txt files in /brew/mod/obigo/jas/index (this has been covered numerous times in this forum and others)

5. Reboot ur phone.  If you have to turn the phone on twice, it means software installed properly.

6. Go get ur beer and celebrate.

I've been able to install most of the games listed here

http://www.*****.com/forums/rpost.pl?b-instgames/

exceptions are Guitar Hero III and a couple I can't remember for now.

Point is, yay, games.

I can't get games to install using any site. Everything works up to where you open the browser from the text link. When the browser loads it just says "Requested page cannot be displayed."
