Why don't you try the following?

Just block out the location sharing.  Of course, if you feel uncomfortable allowing everything, just add blanket(oneshot).  But first see if this fixes problems with installing Opera Mini.

domain: Gold-Trust
allow:            Application_Self_Start
allow:            Device_Connectivity_Bluetooth
allow:            Device_Connectivity_Comm
allow:            Location
allow:            Message_Delivery
allow:            Message_Reception
allow:            Multimedia_Access
allow:            Net_Access
allow:            Personal_Data_Read_Access
allow:            Personal_Data_Write_Access
allow:            Satsa
allow:            Sprint_Extensions

domain: Silver-Trust
allow:            Application_Self_Start
allow:            Device_Connectivity_Bluetooth
allow:            Device_Connectivity_Comm
blanket(oneshot): Location
allow:            Message_Delivery
allow:            Message_Reception
allow:            Multimedia_Access
allow:            Net_Access
allow:            Personal_Data_Read_Access
allow:            Personal_Data_Write_Access
allow:            Satsa
allow:            Sprint_Extensions

domain: untrusted
allow:            Application_Self_Start
allow:            Device_Connectivity_Bluetooth
allow:            Device_Connectivity_Comm
blanket(oneshot): Location
allow:            Message_Delivery
allow:            Message_Reception
allow:            Multimedia_Access
allow:            Net_Access
allow:            Personal_Data_Read_Access
allow:            Personal_Data_Write_Access
allow:            Satsa
allow:            Sprint_Extensions

Thanks for the suggestion but I already tried allowing all as mentioned, it did not help. Did you change anything other than the permissions?

I edited my _policy.txt file to allow for all permission for all apps. That got rid of some annoying popups asking me to confirm every time an application tried to access the internet but I didn't help the opera freeze. What else did you have to modify in your policy file to avoid the freeze?

As far as I remember, permissions are the only things I changed by making duplication from trusted domains to the untrusted.

I'm trying to see what parameters are not being used on ur phone compared to mine and I don't see the system information part.

Maybe it's the problem from deeper within than just the permissions...  I do not know Sad

Opera Mini is pretty sweet. It's just too bad I can't check out sites where I need to log in.

I have had the same issue with Opera 4.1 running only the first time. I've also tried to load Opera 3 to see if it would work. I came across something interesting. I ran into the same problems that others have where it asks you to press OK with no OK selection. What I then did was search for another Opera file. I did find one that worked. The only problem is that it is a German or similar language. I could start the application multiple times without freezing but it is pretty hard to try and decode the text on the screen. I am only guessing but it must be a different version than the English  version I loaded the first time. (even though they both said version 3?) I wonder if there is a British version floating around somewhere that might work. I guess even if there was, we would still be in the dark without the ability to input text. Sad

^^
If you are with Bell, page 2 has instructions on how to install opera 3.
If you are with Telus, there is another thread in the forum about installing 3rd party apps on Telus phones.

Is anyone else with Opera Mini 3.1 on their Bell Instinct having issues navigating to sites you have bookmarked lately? I click on the bookmarks but the connection bar only flashes on the screen quickly and then disappears.  It was working fine earlier today but not now.

Hmmm, a uninstall and reinstall seems to have fixed it but there go my bookmarks.

So I figured out what caused this, when the prompt comes up asking you whether or not you want to allow Opera access permission I accidently hit No or Never.  My question is, is there a way to bring this menu back up or to reset it?
