Wondering if someone could look on their phone and post to this thread the current versions of the software on your phone. This way, you'll have a list already created and will be able to track against it for software updates.

Here's the link to what we'd started for the Sprint version:

Hey... My software version is BG03

I've been looking for information on whether or not I have glitchy phone or not as this software version wasn't meshing with anyone on the forums... so I called bell tech... and that guy's software version wasn't meshing either... he had BG15... forum people are reporting BG30... and then I have BG03... hmmmm

EDIT

Here's all my details:

VERSION
PRL: 31402
S: ES.M800 BG03
H: M800.08
MCL: 5.5.28
OBIGO: Q05A-3.13

APPLICATIONS
IM & EMail: 1.0.8
Navigator: 1.2
Backup: 1.9.3
Media Player: 1.0.5
Music: 2.1.55
Pocket Express: 1.1.7

Can anyone confirm that Bell might be releasing a firmware update. Someone mentioned in another topic on here that Bell might be releasing one. Also, the fact that my software version is inverted kind of makes me nervous...

Also, if any of you try to do a "software update" what does the phone tell you? Mine says "failed to download" every time I try but I'm trying to figure out if thats because there isn't an update anyway or if my phone really is glitchy...

Thanks.

Exactly the same here... When I bought the phone friday, there was an update for the cell phone and the media player.

Hope that Bell will include POP3 emails, because the actual IM & Email really s....

So you have the same version numbers as me? Nifty... and a little relieving Smiley

If you attempt to go through Settings->General->Update Phone what message do you get?

So does your phone say "no updates available" or "firmware failed to download"?

I'm gonna take the phone in I think... I don't like that it is returning this error.

It's interesting that the Canadians have a newer version of the web browser. Mine is 3.12.

I made that one... the guy on the other end told me his software number was BG15 and if the phone wasn't causing any problems then to just let it roll...

In all honesty I'd rather go in to the store, tell them it is buggy on it's update system and test the replacement first. I love the phone, but if something isn't functioning on it correctly then I'm replacing it before I get this one too setup

For what it's worth, on my US phone I would get that error from time to time when trying to check for software updates. Other times I'd get the "you're up to date" message. When there really was an update, it came through a OK though.

Problem solved... I will be getting a new Instinct on Monday...
After spending an hour and a bit at Aliant (Bell Mobility here in the East Coast) and reaching the final level of escalating the problem of the "firmware failed to download" has arrived at "wait another 40 minutes to exhaust virtually EVERY troubleshoot available or not" or "declare the phone DOA and come back on Monday when the new shipment is in"

Double check your instincts folks to make sure this isn't happening on your phone, Tech at Bell said it's likely the phone will never communicate with the firmware service which would be bad news as there is an update looming for October...

Cheers! But I've got a hold on a brand new one for start of next week—which makes me a little happy Smiley

Anyhew, love the phone!
