try com2 and com 4...if you are using an origional instinct...it uses 2 com ports one for the modem and one for a serial port...it is usually one higher or lower. let me know what you find out.

Alright, so I was able to get it connected, and found the _policy.txt I changed everything the way it was described in the post, so now it looks like:

domain: Silver-Trust
allow:            Application_Self_Start
allow:            Device_Connectivity_Bluetooth
allow:            Device_Connectivity_Comm
allow           : Location
allow           : Message_Delivery
allow:            Message_Reception
allow:            Multimedia_Access
allow           : Net_Access
allow:            Personal_Data_Read_Access
allow:            Personal_Data_Write_Access
allow:            Satsa
allow:            Sprint_Extensions

domain: untrusted
allow           : Application_Self_Start
allow           : Device_Connectivity_Bluetooth
allow           : Message_Delivery
allow           : Message_Reception
allow           : Multimedia_Access
allow           : Net_Access
allow           : Personal_Data_Write_Access

but it still is asking me over and over for permission. did I do something wrong?

To make it easier on you. The _policy.txt hack is no longer necessary due to one of the later firmware updates. The pop-up notifications are just security measures. Similar to Windows UAC. I apologize if something has been misinterpreted.

So then, is there no way to disable those anymore because of the new firmware?

That's unfortunate. and no, the "allways allow" option for some reason was disabled with bell. it only shows up on a sprint instinct. Thanks for all the help though anyways dale.
