Hello fellow Bell Instinct owners.

As you may know I did send a email to Bell last week. The email was send to PR people "C" level staff and marketing members. In 24 hours they have a person from the tech team call me about my issues with this phone such as browser crashing and LCDUI update.

As per this thread:

http://www.instinct-samsung.com/index.php/topic,5153.0.html

At the time they told me they would look into this further and get back in touch with me. I just got off the phone with them and they have some updates I can share with you.

They have a Firmware in motion! They could not provide me with any dates or a list of issues that would be in this fix. They did say they would keep in touch with me as with dates and fixes.

This gave me the opportunity to share this community with them and the recent petition that was opened:
http://www.petitionspot.com/petitions/BellSamsungInstinct

Both this site and the petition are now being sent back up the chain of command. I did ask for them to become a member of this site in order to share updates and answer questions we all have. They said they would look into this.

So the good news is they have a firmware update in the works!

Now I have been asked from Bell to get all of us to call the 1-877-328-2123

You must ask the rep to open up a Ticket and ask for a Trouble Shoot.

They will set a time or do it on the spot and try to replicate your problem. Once they can replicate the issue such as browser crashing or soft restarts they can send this list to Samsung and add it to the dev teams list of fixes.

Make sure you tell them about the need for a LCDUI update for Canadian Users.(allows you to use the keyboard with 3rd party app's such as Google maps.)

Looks like all this hard work is starting to pay off. I would like to thank you all for you help and support with this. Make sure we keep it up and in time we should have some fixes need for this phone.

Cheers,

I'm really hoping for the best but...

To tell you they have a firmware in motion but not tell you what or when doesn't really help. I could have given you the same information. I will give them a call and see what I get out of them.

I called Bell. For some reason I keep getting the same idiot. This is the same guy that told me to reset the phone which should be no problem. I lost 135 full contacts. I finally got then all put back and today he told me to do the same thing. I told him to shove it.

I log into my personal webpage to check my email. It worked from the time I got my phone (3-4weeks) until last Saturday. He told me the site is not compatible but could not explain why it worked for three weeks with no problem.

He did tell me that there were 2 updates on the way one in about a month or so. Coming from this guy, I'm not holding my breath.

The main things I see as a Win for us is the fact they have stated they know there is issues. The other is they now are aware of this site and the growing list of people that signed the petition. The other is this is all going back up the chain to "C" level staff at Bell.

So the PTM called me tonight.
They will have a couple fixes coming over the next month.
We talked for over 30 minutes as I shared all of are frustrations and requests with them.
Hand in there guys it's coming soon!
Just as a note I talked about the browser crashing and LCDUI updates for most of it as I know they are both the two main issues we all likes addressed and fixed.

Hey everyone, I've had an instinct since launch, and something i also realised with the instinct, is that the bluetooth is a little bit messed up with the instinct.
When listening to music with stereo bluetooth headphones, the songs will play at a slow speed (making everything sound really low and slow) then every 5 seconds the song will skip, and "catch up" to where it should be if it were playing normally.
Example: Song plays for 5 seconds real time, but at half speed, then at the 5 second mark, it will skip forward to the 10 second mark, because thats where it should be. Very annoying

This was fixed on a recent sprint firmware upgrade, but not on the bell ones. yet.....
So just a heads up if ppl want to use stereo bluetooth headphones to listen to music on their instinct, its a little bugged up right now.

Also with the bluetooth function on the phone, I noticed that if you talk on a bluetooth headset and you leave a 3g area you hear a load buzz and the phone's text message and internet capabilities are destroyed, requiring a replacement phone.
I don't know why this happens, but it seems the bluetooth changes the internal programming to disable these functions.
Telus has no idea how this could happen.  It seems all they are interested in doing is replacing phones.
