For those waiting for a free way to sync iCal and Google Calendar, here's a link I read tonight:

http://arstechnica.com/journals/apple.ars/2008/07/28/google-calendar-and-ical-can-sync-for-free-with-caveats

With this, you can have Google Calendar on your Instinct in sync with your iCal.  Of course, this is good for those who want to continue using iCal.  A simpler alternative is to use Google Calendar alone.

Isnt google calendar horrible(!) on the instinct?  Not having anything close to a usable calendar on this phone has been disappointing for me.

I have Google Calendar as my home page on the Instinct.  It lists my daily events fine and even maintains the various calendars I have (different colors for different functions).  I have not tried to add or change anything on the Instinct.  In another forum, I read that doing those things are bad using the Instinct browser.  Have you tried it?

I also read on another thread (or forum) that the Yahoo calendar is much better and allows for changes using the Instinct browser.  I'll have to try editing/changing/adding events to my Google calendar using the Instinct browser.

I agree that the "native" Instinct calendar is pathetic.  My only gripe with Google Calendar so far is the inability to see a full month at once.  I have to scroll down and keep hitting "next" in order to view more dates.  It would be nice to get a full month view (with day numbers, for example) and then click on a given day to go to that date.

My URL shows www.google.com/calendar.  You might want to log on simply to google.com and then navigate to the calendar.  Once you're there, you can bookmark it.

In another forum or thread, I read that Yahoo Calendar works even better.  I have not tried it yet, but I'll give it a try this weekend.

I had the same problem navigating to it but once I was able to get the calendar on my phone I bookmarked it.

Don't you have to sign in each time when you open up the browser?

Been getting SO aggravated... I can sync calendar with google or yahoo no problem, but when I try to go to the site on yahoo OR google, it will not work...

Yahoo will not accept me hitting the "sign In" button
Google says "trying to use with an unsupported browser"

Can anyone tell me HOW to view/add events to their Outlook 2007 calendar
or should I just trash the idea for good now... before I pull all the hair outta my head..

Does mbCal work with iCal? If so, could you post directions and a tutorial?

I believe you can sync iCal with google... if that is still possible I will play with getting it to come through the mbCal.

My post was more to the google viewers. I have no complaints from the mbCal syncing with Google.

Cool cool. Just curious man. I do wonder if we could get microbeatle to update the app to include a few other Calendar protocols... That would be beneficial for other users from Yahoo!, AOL, etc...

I sent him a suggestion on being able to change the color of the text on the dates where you have activity to different colors. i.e. red for one class and blue for another, green for bills crap like that.

Low down... I can get my iCal to sync with my google calendar. I can then modify my iCal and have it reflect on my google calendar. But I am unable... repeat, unable to get the mbCal to notice the changes/updates when I sync. Very odd.
