Mac users,

I'm posting this here even though the software in question, BitPim, also works with Windows.  However, it doesn't seem there's a problem with BitPim and Windows.  I've been trying to get this app to work on my Mac since a week after I got my Instinct.  I just cannot get it to show up my Instinct files.  Of course the Instinct does not show up on the list of devices in BitPim yet, but even trying with "Other CDMA phone," I cannot get BitPim to work on a Mac.  So, hopefully someone here might find a solution.  Here's the URL to download BitPim:

http://www.bitpim.org/

If you get it to work on your Mac running OS X, please post your solution for the rest of us.

Thanks.

Great.  Thanks.  The app runs fine, but it just won't get the Instinct files to show up.

I am using the latest version.  In addition to having the application automatically check for it upon launch, I force the auto-update and also check the website to make sure I'm not missing any changes in BitPim.  No results yet.

Thanks, anyway.

I ran BitPim with my Instinct S30 [Samsung / Sprint] and the next thing I know I get a blue screen that pops up after the phone restarts... saying things like *S0 and RES and i was like "WHAT?!?!?!" it looked like a BSOD, all the sudden my phone starts up and ALL MY DATA IS [GONE] and i mean GONE... all my calendar data, notes, text messages, and any on-phone settings just disappears... It's completely gone, I'm pissed... why did you people have to tell me about BitPim >.> thanks a lot... lol. I'm running on Windows.

The good ol BitPim wipe!! If you would of read more then you surely would of read of many wipes caused by BITPIM.  I had the same exact version of Bitpim on two different computers, one at work and one at home and the one at home would wipe it every time but the one at work would work everytime.  I never could figure out the difference, it was the exact same program...installed from the same disc i created but it would surely wipe it on one of my computers.  I believe QPST is safer but i never used it on my original INstinct only my new HD.  Sorry you had the experience of the great wipe but if you are with Sprint at least your contacts will come back!!.

I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work.
