Any Mac users having success connecting to their phone in Canada?

I keep getting the "the device you removed was not properly put away...." after 10 seconds on plugging my #$@$@ing phone to my Mac. I even upgraded my OS to 10.5. I've read all the pots & followed all of the tips but to no avail!!!! Why is it that my American counterparts have no probs connecting to Mac but I do? I phoned my provider & they say that they don't support Macs??? Shouldn't the phone work regardless of my location? Huh?

So what's the secret? Huh?

?? What good is it to have a phone that is a MP3 player if can't connect to my computer? Huh?

?? S...t!
