Live Search No GPS, shows closest result 14.5mi away

New Guy here,

I did search, but was unable to find a similar problem.
My Livesearch is great. I don't know if the Sept update caused the problem, but the app worked fine the first few weeks. Live Search sometimes reverts to the city list because it can't get a GPS signal, (I'm in clear view of sky). Oddly if I switch to the Navigation app the gps works perfectly, hmmm. I've tried this several times in various locations, all near major city's with clear view of sky. (LiveSearch No GPS / Navigaton Yes GPS)

On to the original issue.
When LiveSearch does manage to get a GPS signal, it always starts the results list with the first hit being 14.5 miles away. When I check the map, I am in fact only two miles away.

In my experience a clear view of the sky means nothing to our gps. A good network signal is what's needed for the location based services to work. For instance, if I am roaming I can't initiate a navigation session... it tells me a better skyview is needed even though I have an open view of the sky.

That's why I wish that there was a good stand-alone gps app available for the instinct.

Well, im having the same problem and hopefully someone can help. I have 5 - 6 bars, I think thats a pretty good signal. Im in a rev A area too.

Everytime I use Live Search, it spends a couple of seconds searching for the GPS. Then it says Change City - No GPS...

This kinda frustrates me because I always have to pick a city from my list and then wait a few more secods for it to load...

Navigation works great as far as getting a signal quick... I dont get it with Live Search... anyone know what is going on?

I think the problem is City list just sucks. I have the same problem here but in NCY last week it pulled everything up with no problems.

Local it want to take me to Towson all the time and that's about 10 miles away.

i have the same problem: EVERY time i want to use the live search, it cant find the city ( No GPS, select a city)

i have full bar, it doesnt matter if i go to miami, hollywood, it never works !!!! the navigation does work so why is the livesearch has problems?

btw i just use the search feature in the navigation, i believe it does the same
