Has anyone tired instamapper.com or mologogo.com on the Samsung Instinct? Do they work? and which service is better ? Can you suggest an alternative free service? Other than Sprint family locator, because I don't want the person to be tracked to receive a text notification.

Creepy...

But Google Latitude should do the trick, mind you I have had trouble getting it to work on the Instinct.

I'm not sure you understood my question but I'm looking for a service to track my daughter's Samsung instinct, other than the pointless Sprint family locator.

There is currently no "anonymous" tracking of other people via the Instinct available.Sprint has locked developers out of the GPS functionality. There are some that have claimed to be able to get other GPS apps working, but I believe all of them require the "policy mod/hack" or at least have your phone activated to "developer" mode.

With your phone activated to developer mode, I have successfully used gmap to track routes, current location etc, the problem is not just with the limitations of the cell but the gps program will not run in the backround which means the application needs to be running all the time order to track to work etc.

I thought the family locate services were supposed to work well, no program running in the background etc, also I think Sprint will give you a month to try it out first..
