Hello,
I am now on my second Instinct phone and both phones have had this one same issue that drives me nuts.

I like to listen to podcasts on the phone, but every time I pause and do something else (for more than 5 minutes) and then come back, it will lose its place and move to a different track entirely.  This is extremely frustrating with podcasts, because each one is about 36 minutes long, so I have to try to remember where I was on the track.  Its weird also because usually if I come back to it in less than 5 minutes, it remembers its place.  I think this might be related to the phone trying to check email in the background, however, I turned off email all together, and it still does it.  My last Instinct eventually stopped having this issue for the most part, but I have no idea why.  I have all the latest updates on everything for the new phone, but still, no change.  Any ideas on fixing this issue would be much appreciated!!

The music player on this phone is garbage. I wish someone would make a good skinable app that uses winamp skins, had some sort of equalizer and allowed you to make playlists on the fly. I would pay good money for an app like that (hint hint devs)

I second that emotion!

The fact that the native music app. doesn't have an 'add to playing' is ridiculous.  I get irate every time I want to play something besides an entire album (I know, dating myself) or a live concert.  It is just too much trouble to create a playlist on the phone as opposed to just adding to 'now playing'!  Get on the ball Sprint.

try connecting you micro sd to the computer, take everything out of the sd card, then right click on it and do quick format.  After that just put all of the files back into the sd card, it should work faster and better

I have been loading music on my SD card to be used on the native music player....besides the trouble of not having correct tags I am running into the alert "media player is unable to play (song title) Are you ure you want to delete it from your phone?"  this is post MR5 update.

Any suggestions? re-format?

I had this same issue. The problem was in the ID3 tags having non english characters or strange symbols. I did a search and replace for those characters using an ID3 editor (cant remember the name) and that fixed the problem...

Do you have to check as a complete batch, or can you do this song-by-song?

Would mediamonkey catch this or do I need to use something more involved like AudioShell?

Btw, thanks for the input....was beginning to give me an Instinct-ual headache!

DO i have to use the Media Manager?  I have been using Media player and everything is fine, just lately a few songs have given me trouble.......wondering if it is the way Media Player transfers songs.

I was referencing psycho0272's quote above.  Ask him.

If anyone is considering using a 16GB card I really don't think it is worth it.   I'm using the Kingston 16gb Micro SD HC.  I've had it for a few weeks and after spending endless hours trying to get all my mp3s cleaned up using Mp3tag and ready to load on I'm still getting Error: Maximum number of songs exceeded.   Every time I think I have the problem resolved it pops up again.  Someone in an earlier post mentioned that exceeding 12gb doesn't work.  This is quite possible.  I've tried incrementily adding the mp3s a few hundred at a time then letting the player scan and that seems to work till I almost get the card full.  I do seem to have a problem when I get to the 13gb range.  I also have the problem with my camera not working with a 16gb card.  If i try to take a picture it acts like it does then if i go to the view pictures screen it says no media file.   Has anyone had this issue?   I've had this phone since last summer and liked it at first but I don't understand why sprint won't fix this stupid media player.  IT'S F'N GARBAGE.   uncaught exceptions and maximum number of songs exceeded errors are wanting me to smash my head against the wall.   The web browser really blows as well.   I'm really sorry that I didn't wait for my sprint plan to expire and just get an Iphone.
