Well,

The player sucks. It takes like 5 minutes to scan my card, then another 5 when the player comes on. Is there something wrong with it? Or a way to reformat the player. Thanks.

consider yourself lucky it only takes 5 minutes...i have 1,400 songs on my 8GB card and it takes my Instinct 15-20 mins to scan the card.

I have 790 songs on mine...and it takes like 45 seconds....UMMMM both of u peeps...after your phone updates songs....go to the ALL Songs section...and scroll through all the songs and look for songs with a (!) in front of it...if u have alot of songs like that....delete them...

Seriously go check it out and let M.I.C. and I know. Thats what happened with me... The way the files got "corrupted" was I had a playlist with songs on it that AFTER i added them to the playlist i went into Windows Explorer and fixed the tags on the songs.... so when i went to play the playlist it toook like 15 minutes to find em...and it still wouldn't play them.... so check your playlists and all songs list for songs with (!) in front of it!!

does anyone know if they're working on changing that 1127 limit?  contrary to other reports, it seems as though you CANNOT play any songs that are scanned after that 1127 threshold.  case in point, i have 1486 songs on my card (i removed all the ones with "corrupted" tags and it does seem to scan faster now) and about 12 playlists...the one playlist i have has 250 songs on it and i noticed a bunch of them had a (!) in front of them...when i tried to play them, nothing would happen.  i can only assume that these songs were not "scanned" since the 1127 limit had been met.

Class 2 is not really fast enough, you would see a decent improvement with class 4 and noticeable improvement and performance increase with class 6 etc..

I knowwwww im a computer tech and i was in Circuit City for 2 hours deciding between cards to buy...not realizing they only had Class 2 and Class 4 cards...no class 6...so i buy the Lexar on impulse....and then i later saw on the package that it was class 2...i know the difference between classes...but i ended up impulsing...so my next card WILL be a Class 6 card for sure...

ABOUT the song limit....It should scan every song...the trick i figured out is if you turn your phone off then back on then go into the music app it should AUTO load all songs...like when i put a new song on my card it wouldn't scan it and find it cuz i "Had to many songs" but it found it if i power cycle (turn off/on) the phone!

not true...i've tried several times (turning my phone on/off) and each time i got back into the Music Player, i get the "song limit exceeded" error and my "missing" song are still unavailable.

yes...if i have 1,400 songs on my card, go into Music Player...i get the song limit error.  i restart my phone, go back into Music Player...i get the same error again.

are you saying to put 1,100 songs on the card...go into Music Player...power off phone...put ~300 more songs on the card (putting the card back in the phone when done) and then powering the phone up?  then all the songs should be there?

yes try that....its worth a shot....there are ways to trick technology that thinks its smarter then its user....so try then post up and let us know...if THAT doesn't work...try going to 1100 songs...then do 100 more songs, power cycle load media player...if it works...do another 100...repeat...if it works...do the next 100 and so on and so on...let us know!

ok, did some troubleshooting:

1) had 1,117 songs on my card...no issues
2) removed card
3) added 41 more songs
4) powered off phone, had to change battery anyway
5) inserted card, powered phone back on
6) got the "exceeded 1,127" error
7) new songs were NOT available in the Music Player

weird thing is, in my troubleshooting travels, i sometimes (although rare), have seen the Music Player say that i have exceed the 1,252 song limit.
