The files we've been posted are jad/jar combos easily found in the phone's directory. Email, Nav, Voicemail...these are all built into the firmware. In other words, I've tried and tried and tried...and I can't find them anywhere.

I have all the files off of my phone, and none of them are the GPS.  It's kind of wierd, that it's not in there, must be built in the main system somewhere.

That's what I'm thinking. It's got to be imbedded into the firmware somehow. I spent hours trying to piece it together. Found the audio files for "turn right" "destination ahead"...etc, but no app itself.

That's all I found too.  I found a numbered text file that looked the navigation software, but the same numbered jar/jad file was completely different.  Can't remember what it was.

Some of the built-in apps aren't Java at all, they're BREW, so I don't think we'll ever see them as separate files we can play with.

you'll probably need to put the app on via BitPim.

I'm kinda angry at Sprint, they went and gave us a half-assed version of Pocket Express...
The full version (which conveniently isn't supported on the Instinct, go figure) also has stock quotes, travel, and maps (don't know about those other two, travel might include flight information and such, and maps might be GPS stuff like Navigation...)

Either way, I'm feeling more and more ripped off with each passing day.

edit: BREW applications: (they show up with icons if you do ##BREW# and enter your MSL)
MobileShop (possibly a placeholder for the app store we never got)
Sprint Navigation
Nerva-Email (so it seems the email client is also BREW)
The camera, browser, and updater also are mentioned, but with no actual icons.

Has anyone run into a jad/jar file for the YouTube application? I'm having an icon display issue on the "Fun" tab, trying to figure out what I can do to solve it. So far nothing I have tried seems to be working. All of the other icons for apps that I can add in "Fun" appear correctly, YouTube is the only problem..

Battery Pull - no effect
Device Reset - no effect

Don't forget, all that app really does is let you upload videos and give you a shortcut to the website...
You could hide it and be out almost nothing

You need to replace the .png file that you had in there. PM me if you get a copy of it, otherwise I'll send you the two png files that I have on mine. That should solve the problem.

I am having trouble... Installing the IM.jar.  I get application authentication error 910.  When I try to get it from Sprint I get push registry error.  Any thoughts or solutions?

what im client are you trying to send to your phone?

go to the sprint store and download the free im client there.

applications>chat & messaging>im & email>instant messaging.

that's all you need to do for an im client.
