Instinct S30 missing Facebook, Myspace, Photobucket, and Tap to Add not working

I Hope I'm not repeating a question, but I am a newbie.  I recently purchased a new Sprint s30 instinct, and I noticed that the Facebook and other pre-installed applications are missing.  Technical service over the phone could not help and directed me to Sprint store.  The manager at the sprint store told me that Sprint is updating their tap to add applications and none of the tap to add functions are working on any sprint phone.  However, this is not the case because my sons instinct is working fine. 

Can someone help me with this matter?

mine was like that too mine to the sprint store and they gave me a diff phone
