Hey guys, so i'm going to check out the phone tomorrow morning, the morning AFTER it comes out (FINALLY!!).  But i've been reading a couple of topics and it seems that instant messaging doesn't quite work or something?  Can someone clarify this?  Is it possible to go on AIM or not?  Details would be nice  Grin

as of now there isnt any instant messaging programs but if you need to access aim you can do it on their website...... there should be 3rd party apps available soon to support this.

the phone despite some of its flaws was built toallow developers to better develop for it and more apps will become available over the course of this phone's lifespan....

They will, the problem is to draw any developers to their SDK they are going to need to continue not just the phone for a while but the OS.  So that developers won't feel like they've wasted their time for a phone only out for two years.  Otherwise the only programs you get will be pretty rudimentary and shallow.  I'm sure there will be a IM app though.

In contrast, the iPhone's OS is based off the same kernel used in OSX, and the compatibility will remain for a long time.  Just one of the many reasons the iPhone will draw many more developers.

i would have to assume at this point as the instinct has become sprints flagship phone that it would be wise to continue this phone... i started another topic regarding possible specifications that could make it in the next version and wanted people to put up there own specifications for it.... I do believe if they do continue the Instinct line the next incarnation will be more like a smart phone......
