After April 30th I will never use Sprint TV again. Im wondering if anyone knows if it can be removed for good using QPST or Bitpim since there isnt a way to do so through the UI. Over half a megabyte would be freed up to use for something that is actually viable/usable. Thanks in advance.

There are a couple of channels staying until April 30, but I agree, after that there really doesn't seem to be a point to having it...

CNN will be taken away April 30th. I have watched it off and on at work on a daily basis since I got the instinct, but now I will be watching it via ORB

well i agree getting rid of CNN is the worst removal of all the channels as I have watvched it everyday i have had the phone, but complete removal for half a meg?? Little drastic dont ya think, just get a bigger memory card, just got a class 6 8 GB for 20 with tax.Sounds like a better option to me!! Smiley

I really cant see how removing TV capability makes any sense. You never know what new channels may come.

Sprint TV is a java based app which is downloaded into the phone itself which has only 32 mb available total, not the sd card. All I really want to do is get rid of the useless crap, just as one would do when buying a new computer. The more crap loaded, the slower it runs. Well, anyway, Im gonna remove it after the 30th....if I want to reload or if there are any problems after deleting, I have a backup .jar. Was just curious if anyone had deleted a preinstalled app and if so, any adverse effects

If you delete the TV app, you won't be able to play videos, will you?

Well,  -Z- got me to thinking. The app is not the actual media player of the phone, but by deleting, there wouldnt be a place to access sideloaded video, so ....I guess it stays for now. Maybe with the opening of APIs, an app might be made to play sideloaded videos.

Well there's another option, there's always the iphone, it has no TV to worry about.

Sprint might as well have no TV to worry about either (and with the next round of channel cuts, Sprints phones will be on par with the iphone) but that's not even funny! AT&T is much worse than Sprint EVER thought about being.  Not an option for me, thanks!   lol
