I can't believe I gave up my AT&T Tilt and switched to Sprint for the Instinct - and I can't even put everything I need on the Calendar.

I can't believe I'm going to use an old-fashioned pocket calender and pencil for scheduling until Sprint releases the update because I love this phone so freakin much.

Hurry Sprint! Nice work so far, but We need this! Keep the updates rollin

The calendar update (new calendar) will come from Seven, same company that made the email app. I would imagine it would be an OTA update when it is ready. The instinct has a funny way of messing with your head, doesn't it ?

You also still have many Web-Based Calenders to choose from. I know it's not the same but usable and better then Paper/Pocket Cal.

I vote for Google Calendar -- I hooked it to my work Outlook and then bookmarked my Google Mobile login page for the calendar. Has worked surprisingly well and I can be happy with this until a resident app is available.

There's something being done about this by 3rd party app devs. Check Instinctbookmarks.blogspot.com for further information.

Okay so Im not sure if I'm the only person this is happening to or not I did a search and couldn't find any info on it.
So this is what's happening I make a event in my calendar, set it to notify me about it but it never does!  I don't know whats going on here there isn't even a message on the phone that tells me I have an even that day. Is this happening on anyone elses phones?
and if so is there a solution? maybe I did something to make it not work... /=

Its happening to a lot of people. To make it alert you you have to make sure its set to on time instead of 10 min before. Also if its a reoccurring event you have to make the end date the last date you want it to remind you.

thanks (=
but i think i figured it out.. i had a custom ringtone set as my default for messages and alerts. i changed it back to one of the tones that came with the phone and it started working again.. i guess thats a bug that should be addressed..

Sprint already has an excellent calendar on its web site -- the same site that syncs our Instinct contacts.  Unfortunately, though, the Spring web site calendar does not synchronize with the Instinct.  Has anyone found a way to sync it?

I am having a similar issue with my calendar not notifying me of appts.  It worked well before the update.  Now the calendar appt. doesn't notify me at all.  I set it to notify an hour in advance, set the ringer, save it and when the date/appt. arrives, no reminder.  Before it would notify me and if I didn't check it, the blue star at the top of the screen would show that I missed the appointment.  And I would see a blue star on the calendar icon.  That is not happening since the update.  Weird thing is that if I setup a test appt. and do a notify for an hour later the same day, it will notify me.  For some reason, the calendar reminder isn't working for future appointments.

Have you checked the main calendar thread for any info on this/fixes ? http://www.instinct-samsung.com/index.php/topic,98.0.html. I'm going to go ahead and merge this thread into that one, to keep the calendar info together.

Just got off the phone with Sprint tech support about no calendar appointment notification/reminder.  Sprint is aware of this malfunction and is working on a fix.  The tech said it worked beautifully prior to the July 30th update and since then, has not functioned.  At this time, Sprint is focused on releasing current updates but should have a software update soon for the calendar reminder.  Some news is good news......
