Yeah i def think that the browser will still suck come release time. But i do have faith that they will either make opera mini work on it or someone will developer a better web browser for it themselves. Also i wish opera mobile would work on it but its made for windows mobile i think. Which sucks because it supports flash 7 and looks awesome.
It's not just for windows mobile, it's been ported onto the helio ocean as well, i was thinking this as well, I'm pretty sure there will be a third party app for opera or they'll release a compatible version hopefully

Ok software engineer Instinct critics.  Lets think this one through.  Being a software engineer and not a hardware manuf., elect. engineer, or computer engineer, I dont think you know anymore more about implementing phone-software into a phone... I believe u know lots about bettering software, but nothing about how much time it takes implement better software into production devices.

That said, think of it this way... The pre-production tests I have seen were buggy, laggy, the browser inconsistent, on as late as June 2nd.  This means the tester order the device before May 20th at best.  Which means Samsung has to complete/build x amount of preproduction phones for testing no later than May 16 or so...  This means that they didnt reach their stopping point in actual software engineering/development for th the test phones before April 30th.  And we know this is actually the case because the test phones were available on April 1st!!  So when you think about the reality of things... your "2 weeks to make the phone better..." hypothetical is at best misleading!  They have had all of April and all of May to fix bugs, make the browser better, implement EV DO Rev A, Java, etc (like they have advertised) by June 1 so they can have 3 weeks to produce and ship them to stores by June 20th.

Realism works people, rhetoric is just rhetoric!

I like how your thinking but in truth you don't know when the production models were made. I would say beyond all of this "they have 2 weeks and are going to redo the software in every model they have made in 2 weeks". We should look at the higher possibility that if sprint and samsung do care about what we want (we hope they do) then we will have some kind of update to the phone over the internet within a few days of its release.

But of course anything any of us say is just speculation. So lets just all hope its great on release day.

I love Apple and the iPhone but there is no way I would switch to AT&T just for that. I'm with Sprint right now so I'm going for the Instinct.

There is no iPhone vs. Instinct, 2 phones on different platforms, that's like comparing a Commodore against a PS3

Um ok,  comparing a 30 year old computer to a year old gaming console is real similar. If comparing 2 3g phones that came out a month apart is not a fair comparison, I don't know what is.

It doesnt matter if they are both 3G phones or not!  If you know both the phones well, then you know that it is apples and oranges.  Personally I like the Instinct more...
