Hey guys, did the search and didn't find an answer, although I did find one post with the same problem.

I downloaded a Mp4 movie from a bitorrent.  Got the movie and put it on the instinct using the card.  When I go to the tv/video it comes up under my videos and sideloaded.  It says the run time and says it an Mp4.

WHen I go to play it, I get this message

Alert

Sorry, this channel is temporarily unavailable.  Please try again later.  Video Error.

Now, when I try to open the video on my computer using quicktime, it works perfect

Any help?

UPDATE:

So i tried to redo the file, just in case.  I used FFW video decoder to make sure file was set up right for phone.  Again, movie plays fine on my computer.  Put on card and get exact same error

Then it's not the right screen size for the phone...check that.  368X208 is the standard psp size, plays well on the Instinct.

so you get that error with the wrong screen size?  I tried to crop it some using another program, but maybe I didnt do it enough?  Ill try again if thats the problem

correct, screen size too big, gives the error too.  right-click, properties...see what size ot says it is

I don't see anywhere in properties where it gives me the resolution, what would you recommend I use to make sure my files get to be the correct size

If i convert a dvd on my s30 to 432x240 i get an error. "Sorry, this Channel is temporarily unavailable", or i just get a black screen.  Does anybody know how to fix this.

Unfortunately you will still get the same error..your screen size needs to be
320x240...Not sure why the s30 is different considering the screen sizes are the same, but it Definately works at this screen size on the s30

I use FFMPEG for converting/resizing videos. Its not the easiest because it is a console program but it is really good.  I posted some info some days ago about this.

By the way, the Instincts screen size is 432x240. It should be the same with the S30. I think the problem may be the codec.

I TRIED THIS BUT IT SMUSHES THE MOVIE.  IT DOES PLAY THOUGH.  ANY OTHER SUGGESTIONS.

working with WhiteWagon yesterday it turns out the tv view, whatever setting that is ( ipod I think ) also works when watching movies...so more good news for you s30 owners.
