Yes dropping a video into the card is the fastest way to get it there if its in the correct format. Put it into the Media folder.

Select iPhone 2G or 3G?  There are two iPhone options to chose from, does it matter which?

Braka - Yes starting with an .mov file is no problem. There are many free converters available. Probably the simplest I have found is FormatFactory  http://www.formatoz.com/
Use the setting PSP 480x272 for widescreen

Everytime i try to convert a vid using this program I cannot see it in my Instinct. I chose PSP 480x272 for widescreen but it won't load it once on the phone. Sad

I should have said use that ratio if the original was wide screen.

Are you converting to mp4 ?

Can you view the converted video on your PC?

Yeah I'm converting to mp4 and I can view the converted video on my PC but not in Winamp. Only in VLC or Quicktime... Didn't try the others player.

I've had "DVD Decrypter" for a couple years (I bought it right before they were supposed to ban it) but just dl'd Videora! Awesome, works great! I just put "I Am Legend" on my Instinct and it worked flawlessly! Make sure you click on "DVD" in the Videora main screen and set up "DVD Decrypter" according to the specs they have listed.  Thanks for the great tip!

Braka - mp4 is not supported in Winamp according to their help information.
(only AVI, MPG, MPEG, M2V, AVI, ASF, WMV, NSV, FLV, SWF)

But don't know why you have a problem playing on the phone - sorry

Think it was because the resolution was to high. I compared the specs of the vid with one that was working and that was the difference. Here's my new settings in expert mode that works fine. I'm always uploading video clips and the voices now fit with the images with these settings. The print screen is attached with my post...

Pirate Bay just released their own video converter. It boasts a fast loading time and at least a 20% reduction in file size. The people at lifehacker put it through its paces and the results were pretty awesome.

Is ther a way to rip movies straight from a DVD to the instinct memory card?  If so, what are the steps?

I would like to know the answer to this as well.  Currently, I can identify the individual vod files for the movie and use Vidoera to convert them to the proper mpeg4 file.  However, most movies have multiple vob files and so you end up with multiple mpeg4 files as well.  Is there a way to convert all the vob files at once into a single mpeg4 file?  Or is there another utility you can import the mpeg4 files into and create a single file out of them?

Try this proggy:   http://www.321slideshow.com/vob-joiner.htm
